Abstract/Summary:
With the development of economy and society, people’s consumption places have changed from traditional trading markets to commercial streets to the emergence of commercial complexes nowadays. In this change, consumers’ needs and consumption methods are constantly changing. In recent years,experience-based and virtual online consumption has posed a huge threat to the development of real businesses. The functions carried by commercial pedestrian streets are no longer the traditional single shopping, but commercial pedestrian streets have to provide consumers with places for shopping, recreation and entertainment that meet aesthetic needs, reduce mental stress and strengthen emotional ties. The compounding of street functions and more inclusiveness are the inevitable path for the development of commercial pedestrian streets.Based on the Baidu heat map, this paper first qualitatively analyzes the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of the spatial vitality of typical neighborhoods on rest days and weekdays in two dimensions: time and space, and quantifies the heat map data to derive the heat value of typical streets. On this basis, the street heat value is correlated with the street vitality evaluation factors(spatial accessibility, spatial openness, functional density, functional mix)to determine the evaluation factor weights,so as to construct a street vitality evaluation system and realize quantitative evaluation of street spatial vitality.Secondly, the spatial morphology analysis software was used to quantify the overall spatial morphology of the streets, and the three spatial morphological parameters of spatial integration, spatial comprehensibility and spatial view integration were correlated with the street vibrancy values to discover the connection between the spatial morphological parameters and the distribution of spatial vibrancy, and the distribution of morphological parameters and street vibrancy values were compared and analyzed to identify streets with inconsistent spatial vibrancy and spatial morphological development. Then, the bottom interface, side interface and top interface elements of the streets are quantified and analyzed with the help of relevant software platforms, and the interface elements are correlated with the street vitality,so as to find out the interface factors affecting the spatial vitality of typical streets. Finally, the statistical analysis of all street vitality influencing factors is conducted to find out the facilitating factors, inhibiting factors, sensitive factors and lagging factors affecting street vitality, and suggestions for street optimization are made according to the vitality influencing factors. It is found that there is a strong connection between the spatial morphological elements of streets and the distribution of spatial vitality, especially in places with developed transportation networks, where spatial morphology directly affects the distribution of street vitality, but the street vitality of historical commercial pedestrian areas is not affected by the degree of spatial integration and spatial comprehensibility.Further comparative analysis of spatial morphological elements and street vitality reveals that there are still many streets with unbalanced spatial vitality and spatial development. The commercial pedestrian street area vitality in Mianyang City shows negative correlation results with the parameter of view integration, indicating that the high view area is not effectively utilized.Street space vitality is affected by a variety of interface factors together, the intrinsic components of street space interface are complex and diverse, different types of neighborhoods are affected by three or more factors, street width and storefront density have significant effects on three neighborhoods, and the interface influencing factors of different types of neighborhood vitality are slightly different.
