As an integral part of power transmission,cables play an indispensable role in the field of electrical energy transmission.With the increase of service life,there are more and more incidents of cable failure.The occurrence of cable faults will cause huge economic losses and social impacts.Therefore,this research is important for the timely detection of cable faults and avoiding possible losses.First,based on the transmission line theory,the cable distribution parameter model is derived and the localization algorithm of cable impedance spectrum is studied.Simulation tests were conducted to verify the feasibility of the impedance spectrum-based localization algorithm.Secondly,the test software was developed based on RF impedance tester LCR1000 A,including signal emission function,cable impedance spectrum data acquisition function,cable breakage detection function,etc.Again,a practical cable fault diagnosis test was carried out,in which the LCR1000 A was used to collect the cable impedance spectrum data in the intact and damaged states,and the self-developed test software was used to process the data for cable fault detection.The test results accurately locate the location of cable breakage and verify the practicality of the software designed and developed in this project.In summary,the developed cable fault location system realizes the precise location of cable breakage and verifies the feasibility of the software system design scheme through experiments.
