Transportation is the major energy-consuming sector in cities, which is the key for emission reduction in the construction of low-carbon cities. In order to achieve the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals,it is imperative to control the energy consumption of urban transportation.Reasonable urban form design is an improtant means to control urban transportation energy consumption.Exploring the impact of urban form on urban transportation energy consumption is the cornerstone of sustainable urban form research and the basis for building a low-carbon city.Although it is a consensus that urban form has an important impact on urban transportation energy consumption, there are still unsolved problems in related research, including: 1.There is a lack of comprehensive research on the impact of urban form on both total and sub-item energy consumption of urban transportation.2.There are few empirical research results based on high-quality data.3.There is a lack of multiple and multi-dimensional quantitative methods of urban form.Based on the above problems,30 Chinese cities are taken as samples for empirical research on the impact of urban form on urban transportation energy consumption.Firstly, the calculation model of urban transportation energy consumption by items is constructed to calculate the energy consumption of urban public, private, freight, official transportation and their total energy consumption of urban traffic.Secondly,it studies the quantification methods of urban form based on multi-source urban big data to define and calculate 63 urban form indicators on spatial scale, functional density, geometric form, and central structure,as well as other 22 non-urban form indicators on transportation facilities, social economy.Lastly, based on the PLS regression model,it studies the impact of urban form and non-urban form indicators on the total energy consumption of urban transportation, and the impact of urban form indicators on the sub-item energy consumption of urban transportation. The results show that both urban form and non-urban form indicators have an impact on the total energy consumption of urban transportation. The area index of residential buildings has the greatest impact on the total energy consumption of urban transportation.Besides, the number of urban centers and the scale of urban construction have a significant positive impact on both the total and sub-item energy consumption of urban transportation. The urban form indicators including mixed degree of building functions, the population heat intensity per GFA of commercial and office buildings, and the compactness of urban form have a negative impact on urban private transportation, which is the highest among all sub-item energy consumption of urban transportation. It reveals the influence of urban form on the total and the sub-item energy consumption of urban transportation in this paper, which provides theoretical basis for the study of urban form to effectively control traffic energy consumption. It also establishes an effective and accurate calculation model of urban traffic energy consumption, and proposes a multi-dimensional and multi-dimensional urban form quantification method, which provides effective technical support for quantitative research on urban scale. There are about 59000 words,42 diagrams and 24 illustrations in this thesis.
