The Study Of Color Constancy On Display Of Civil Cockpit

As the most important visual codes in aviation display,color plays an increasingly important role with the development of human-computer interaction technology in aviation.Both amber and yellow have the meaning of reminder and warning but represent different levels of urgency when they are actually used as color codes in aviation display.At present,the interface of civil aviation cockpit display mostly uses large screen display,and the color is often superimposed in some display modes(such as the map mode in Navigation display).The interactive effect between different colors is easy to confuse the identification of yellow and amber.The misjudgment of civil aviation pilots between yellow and amber color codes may induce their mis-operation of emergency information in flight and increase the probability of flight accidents.Therefore,it is necessary to explore the influence of other colors in the civil aircraft display interface on the discrimination between yellow and amber,so as to optimize the interface design strategy and ensure the constancy of their cognition.Based on human’s naked eye cognition of color,this study first combined the color cognition angle with the pilots’ operating environment to explore the possible causes of confusion when they recognize yellow and amber.Through the absolute judgment method,it is found that when yellow is in the green background and amber is in the red background,the subjects are more likely to confuse the distinction between the two colors.Secondly,because green and red are also used in aviation coding,this study simulated the actual use scene of aviation color through color matching experiment,in order to explore the bias of yellow and amber in this scene and the influence of various elements of background color on it,so as to find a suitable aviation color combination.Finally,based on the above research results,this paper attempted to design a color scheme in line with the context and visual recognition,so as to achieve the color compatibility between the target color(yellow and amber)and the background color,providing guidance for the design and optimization of the subsequent civil aviation cockpit display interface.
