The development of city promotes the functionalization of different zones to meet certain specific needs among different people.Urban functional zones refer to urban spatial zones that undertake specific travel and activity needs through the spatial aggregation of natural resources and social services.The existence of functional zones enables the social and economic resources of the city to be rationally and efficiently deployed in the space that is convenient for people’s production and living behaviors,which can effectively improve the efficiency of urban operation.With the rapid development of urban expansion and social economy,the travel distribution characteristics and land use distribution characteristics of different urban functional zones also show significant differences.The classification of urban functional zones is the premise of scientific and rational urban planning and construction.The study focused on the identification methods of urban functional zones and the travel characteristics within different urban functional zones is important for measuring the degree of land use,scientifically conducting urban management,planning various economic and social functions,and efficiently using various resources.It is of great significance to improve the comprehensive competitiveness of the city.The preparation of datasets includes the preprocessing of Point of Interest(POI)data,the division of research areas based on road network data,and the preprocessing of multisource travel data.The preprocessing of travel data,POI data and road network data includes unifying the coordinate system,screening invalid and redundant data,reclassifying POI data,extracting and dividing the main road in the road network data based on morphological processing and forming traffic analysis zones.Finally,based on the data after data cleaning,the overall data distribution characteristics are preliminarily analyzed,which lays the foundation for the subsequent extraction of regional characteristics and travel characteristics.A topic model based on POI and traffic data is used to identify urban functional zones,and a regional pedestrian flow-activity characteristic index system is proposed based on the distribution characteristics of the overall data to identify urban functional zones.The method to identify urban functional zones compares the urban functional zone identification based on the traffic analysis zone to a text-based topic model,establishes the optimal number of topics by calculating the perplexity and consistency values.The method also distinguishes the travel behaviors on working days and weekends,the origin and destinations of travel behaviors to optimize topic modeling results.The urban functional zone identification method extracts the regional characteristics of the traffic analysis zone and the user flowactivity characteristics with multi-source travel data,and constructs a region-user-flowactivity characteristic index system based on POI and traffic travel data to identify urban functional zones.The concept of urban functional zone classification analogizes the theory of natural language processing,and the case study of urban functional zone is carried out using the topic model.The user travel behavior pattern analogizes the vocabulary of text processing,and the traffic analysis zones analogy the documents in text processing.After dividing the study area with morphological processing based on the road network structure,based on the movement semantics contained in the multi-source travel data,the Latent Dirichlet Allocation(LDA)topic model and Dirichlet Multinomial Regression(DMR)topic model classify the traffic analysis zones.And based on the proposed region-user-flow-activity characteristic index analysis to identify the specific functional categories of traffic analysis zones,it provides support for the subsequent analysis of urban functional zone structure and user travel analysis.The structure of urban functional zones and the temporal-spatial distribution of user travel behaviors in functional zones are analyzed.Firstly,the overall spatial pattern of urban functional elements distribution is analyzed based on the identification results of urban functional zones.Considering the functional mixture of urban space regions caused by urban development,the land use mixture degree of the study area as a whole and each functional zone is analyzed by using the land use mixture degree analysis model.Then,the spatial autocorrelation analysis was used to explore the distribution characteristics of land use in the whole study area and the main functional zones.Finally,the temporal and spatial distribution of user travel behavior in various transportation modes within functional zones is presented and analyzed,and the travel characteristics of user travel peaks,the travel characteristics in the same functional zone and among different functional zones are extracted.The analysis of urban functional zones and the user travel behavior have practical significance in urban planning,traffic planning and traffic management.
