Fiber reinforced composite materials have a series of excellent properties such as high specific stiffness, high specific strength, and fatigue resistance, which have broad prospects in aerospace and armor protection. As a means of welding dissimilar metals, explosive welding is widely used because of its good bonding interface. In this paper, the steel fiber reinforced aluminum titanium aluminum composite plate was prepared by explosive welding, and the preparation process of the composite plate was introduced. The numerical simulation results were compared with the experimental results, and the tensile resistance of the fiber reinforced composite plate was evaluated. The main conclusions in this paper are as follows:(1)The experimental parameters of explosive welding were analyzed and selected through the theory of explosive welding window.According to the results after coefficient correction, the explosive welding windows corresponding to the clad plate and the splint, and the splint and the base plate were calculated respectively. The reasonable parameters of explosive welding were selected in the common part of the two windows.(2)The influence of the addition of steel fibers on the bonding interface of composite plates was studied using the smooth fluid particle dynamics method, revealing the evolution mechanism of the bonding interface of composite plates. The addition of steel fibers blocked the forward propagation of jet particles, causing a large amount of molten jet particles to accumulate on one side of the steel fibers, forming a melting zone under extreme thermodynamic conditions of high temperature, high pressure, and high strain rate,The process of the jet being blocked and then generated runs through the interface evolution of the entire composite plate.Although there is a melting zone generated,it does not affect the bonding quality of the composite plate.(3)The interface of the composite plate with steel fibers was analyzed using scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS).The results showed that the numerical simulation results were highly consistent with the actual experimental results. The steel fibers were wrapped in the plate and jet,and a molten region was formed below the fiber side, which contained j et particles mainly composed of aluminum particles. The waveform in the middle area of the two steel fibers is more uniform and obvious, and the element transition between the welding materials is faster after adding steel fibers.(4)Static tensile experiments and observation of fracture morphology were conducted on steel fiber reinforced composite plates, and the results showed that the addition of steel fibers significantly improved the tensile resistance of the composite plates.Within a certain range, the larger the diameter of steel fibers, the more significant the improvement in tensile resistance of the composite plates. When steel fibers with a diameter of 0.5 mm are added, the tensile resistance of the composite board is improved by about 50% compared to the composite board without fibers. The addition of steel fibers also improves the fatigue resistance and fracture safety of composite plates to a certain extent.Fracture analysis showed that the aluminum layer underwent ductile fracture, while the titanium layer and steel fiber underwent quasi cleavage fracture.
