Research On The Impact Of The Demonstration Base For Entrepreneurship And Innovation Policies On Technological Innovation Of Enterprises

The demonstration base for Entrepreneurship and Innovation policy is an important measure to improve the innovation initiative of enterprises,to implement National Innovation-driven Development Strategy,and to promote high-quality economic development.Based on the data of Chinese A-share listed enterprises from 2013 to 2019,this dissertation examines the impact of demonstration base policies on the technological innovation performance of enterprises in the base and its mechanism by Propensity Score Matching and Difference-in-Differences model(PSM-DID).The results show that the demonstration base policies improve the technological innovation performance of the enterprises in the base,but the policies produced the strategic innovation of enterprises two year after it was established.In terms of influencing mechanism,innovation resources are the important mechanisms for the demonstration base policies to promote enterprises’ technological innovation performance.While there are obvious weak links in mechanisms such as transformation of scientific and technological achievements and transaction cost.The results of heterogeneity study show that the effect of demonstration base policies on the innovation incentive of enterprises in the growth and maturity stage is obviously better than that in the start-up stage.Compared with the western region,the demonstration base policies promote the technological innovation performance of enterprises in the central and eastern regions.In terms of the degree of market competition,the demonstration base policies significantly improve the technological innovation performance of enterprises with high degree of market competition,but has no significant effect on enterprises with low degree of market competition.Furthermore,the result of extension study shows that the demonstration base policies have a significant diffusion effect on the technological innovation knowledge of enterprises.This dissertation provides empirical evidence for improving the construction of demonstration bases and giving full play to their incentive effect on enterprise innovation,and reveals the development status and weak links of the current system of demonstration bases in China,which has practical guiding significance for enterprise managers and policy makers.
