With the introduction of the policies to vigorously promote EPC and in order to meet the needs of improving their competitiveness,designers without the ability to independently contract EPC projects increasingly choose to participate in EPC in the mode of joint venture.However,under the joint venture mode,the designer does not have an advantage in terms of capital volume or voice.It is common for designers to fail projects due to improper interface risk control.In order to improve the benefits of the project and ensure that the designer participates in the EPC in a healthy and sustainable manner,Firstly,through the collation of existing literature,combined with the strategic alliance theory and expert interview,this thesis descriptive statistical analysis,exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were used to analyze the questionnaire data.The results of descriptive statistical analysis showed that the significant performance evaluation indexes as follows: failure to conduct sufficient design disclosure with the purchaser,and the purchaser cannot implement the design intent;Failure to reasonably coordinate with the construction party,resulting in poor construction enforceability of design documents;In case of design change or conflict of interest,the negotiation cost between the designer and the joint venture is high;Failed to focus on the cultivation of compound design management talents in the coordination and cooperation of joint venture members;Failure to reasonably coordinate with the purchaser leads to poor installation implementation in the selection of materials and equipment.Secondly,the exploratory factor analysis extracted 5 key performance indicators from 20 indicators,which were: risks related to resource base,risks related to transaction costs,interface risk with owner,risks related to social network,risks related to organizational learning.Thirdly,using structural equation model to do confirmatory factor analysis,the result showed that:Both the "poor capabilities of the joint venture" and the "high communication cost of joint-venture members" significantly reduce project performance;and the "designer network relationship risk" will significantly increase the communication cost of internal members,make it difficult for the joint venture to improve its own capabilities,and lead to a decrease in the designer’s willingness to learn;Low learning willingness of designers will increase the communication cost of joint-venture members;while the impact of owner interface risk on project performance is not significant.This thesis applies the strategic alliance theory to the designer’s interface risk research under the EPC joint venture mode,providing a new perspective for project interface management.The list of designer interface risks under the EPC joint venture mode identified in this thesis and the action path of key indicators were conducive to the alliance enterprises to optimize risk management and improved the success rate of joint venture cooperation.It also provides enlightenment for risk identification of other members in joint venture.
