With the development of the concept of smart transportation,traffic radar has become an important roadside perception unit.Deploying traffic radar at traffic intersections can provide real-time accurate traffic data,detect and report various traffic events in a timely manner,which helps solve traffic problems and ensure urban traffic safety.However,the traditional single sensor detection has defects and is prone to false detection and missed detection,which affects the reliability of the system.Therefore,based on this background,this thesis studies a traffic radar monitoring system based on millimeter-wave radar and vision fusion to achieve information complementation,improve the accuracy of data,and better serve the traffic radar system.1.This thesis selects the effective targets of the millimeter-wave radar,analyzes the working principle of the millimeter-wave radar,determines the radar selection,eliminates the detected interfering targets according to the radar characteristics,and uses the Kalman filter algorithm to test the validity of the target.2.For the visual vehicle detection,the research and comparison of the current mainstream visual algorithms were made,and improvements were made on the basis of the YOLOv5 algorithm,adding a small target detection layer to improve the accuracy of vehicle detection.After testing and verification,the improved model improves the detection accuracy by 1.97%.3.A millimeter-wave radar and vision fusion framework is designed and implemented,the radar and visual data are spatially and temporally integrated,and a data association algorithm based on the target area of interest is designed to make decisions based on the intersection and comparison of information fusion,which is verified by experiments.Compared with the visual scheme,the accuracy rate has increased by 4.6%.4.Based on the above sensor fusion,a traffic radar monitoring system is designed and implemented.According to the radar data,the traffic indicators are calculated in real time and traffic events are detected,displayed on the host computer module,and interacted with the traffic signal.After the system function verification,the system is proved to be reliable and accurate.
