At present,China’s economic and social development has gradually entered a new normal, the rigid growth of energy demand, followed by increasing energy waste and pollution, energy conservation and emission reduction has become a major issue of sustainable and healthy social development. The energy consumption of HVAC accounts for about 60% of the total energy consumption in China’s construction industry. The low energy consumption of traditional efficient energy use also causes serious environmental pollution. Therefore, the energy structure of HVAC needs to be reformed,in order to achieve energy conservation and economic and environmental protection goals. In this paper, the cold and heat source system of air conditioning is reformed and the energy consumption characteristics are analyzed in an Architectural practice--a sports centre.Firstly, according to the requirement of building design,a 3D building model is built in the energy consumption simulation software —— Design Builder. The model will be given the basic information of building envelope, lighting, and human activities, and calculates the hourly cooling and heating load of the building. On this basis, this paper will further establish three detailed air-conditioning cold and heat source models in the software,They are the conventional sub-supply system before the transformation-electric refrigerator + coal-fired boiler, the combined supply system of ground source heat pump(GSHP)and the combined supply system of gas(CCHP)after the transformation.Through energy consumption simulation, the typical daily operation characteristics of the three systems are analyzed, and the feasibility of each system is verified. Finally, this paper evaluates the energy-saving,environmental protection and economic performance of the three cold and heat source systems from three aspects of thermodynamic performance, carbon emission and cost comparison, and analyzes the applicable characteristics of the three systems. The results show that the energy-saving performance of the improved cooling and heating source system is better than that of the conventional distribution system,The ground source heat pump(GSHP)system has obvious advantages only in the heating season compared with the conventional efficient energy use system. So,in general, the energy-saving effect of gas-fired CCHP system is better than that of ground-source heat pump system. In terms of environmental protection, the two reformed systems are better than the sub-supply system in terms of environmental protection,The CO2 emission of the GSHP system is 8.2%lower than that of the conventional distribution system, and the CO2 emission of the CCHP system is 3.1% lower than that of the conventional distribution system. So the ground source heat pump system is more effective in reducing emissions than the gas-cooled combined heat and power system. In terms of economy, the annual operating cost of the two systems after transformation is lower than that of the original sub-supply system,However, due to the initial investment, the payback period of the GSHP system can be reduced by half compared with that of the gas-fired CCHP system.
