The open-wall quay structure was invented as an improvement to the upright dike and was first proposed by Jarlan,also known as the Jarlan structure.This structure consists of placing an open-wall upright in front of the upright dike and forming a wave elimination chamber between the upright wall and the upright dike,thus creating a wave elimination effect on the upright dike which has no wave elimination effect.In this paper,the wave reflection coefficient,wave dissipation effect and wave impact pressure of two types of square pier structures,namely connected openings and unconnected openings,are investigated respectively through tests.It can be known which of the two structures has better wave dissipation effect and stable structure.The two structures designed in this paper replace the wave dissipation chamber of Jarlan structure with wave dissipation holes,each hole is an independent wave dissipation chamber,and this structure will achieve the wave dissipation effect by wave action on different walls to produce phase difference and wave dissipation through porous media.Firstly,the effect of relative water depth on the reflection coefficient is used to study the wave dissipation effect of the two structures.It is concluded that when the relative water depth is small,the reflection coefficient of the unconnected structure is smaller and the wave dissipation effect of the unconnected structure is better than that of the connected structure under the action of regular waves at the same water level.Finally,comparing the force characteristics between the two structures,it can be seen that under the conditions of constant water level,constant period and constant wave height,the pressure value of the connected structure is significantly smaller than that of the unconnected structure,while the pressure value of the column with wave elimination holes decreases even more significantly,indicating that the wave elimination holes of the connected structure can effectively reduce the pressure value,thus reducing the overall structural force.
