Building model reconstruction is to store the 3D geometric information of buildings in real life in the form of digital models.Building model reconstruction has always been an important topic in computer vision, photogrammetry and remote sensing. It is widely used in GIS,urban planning, disaster management, emergency response, virtual and augmented reality. The emergence of Li DAR technology makes it possible to obtain 3D information quickly and accurately. This also pushes the process of data acquisition and processing to be automatic, which brings great convenience to the building model reconstruction. This paper focuses on the research of building 3D reconstruction, and the main contributions of this paper are as follows:(1)The research on the building roof plane segmentation based on airborne LIDAR point cloud data.A novel building roof plane segmentation algorithm based on L0 gradient minimization and graph cut is proposed. It can effectively obtain building roof plane segmentation results from the building point cloud data of buildings without missing planes and with correct topological relationship and high boundary precision which can be the solid foundation for the modeling process.(2)The research on the building contour regularization.Based on the planes segmentation results, the planes of individual building are integrated. Then, the contour of the building is regularized with vertical constraint guided by the intersecting lines and long lines.(3)The research on the method of building model reconstruction based on the building planes. We conduct data simulation of the missing side wall. The final models of buildings which are manifold and watertight are obtained.
