Because of its simple structure,stable hysteretic performance,strong energy consumption and low cost,friction dampers are widely used in structural vibration control technology.The traditional friction damper has the defects of single damping force and lack of self reset ability.In this paper,a kind of wood variable friction damper with certain self reset function is proposed for the defects of friction damper.Through the combination of theoretical analysis and numerical simulation,the hysteretic performance of self reset wood variable friction damper is studied.The main research contents and achievements are as follows:(1)The design idea,structure composition,working principle and working process of the self reset wood variable friction damper are described in detail.The characteristics and design method of the Belleville spring are introduced.The mechanical model of the Belleville spring is given.The loading and unloading stiffness of the damper is deduced through static analysis.The damping force displacement hysteresis of the self reset wood variable friction damper is given based on the above work In theory,the influence of the structural parameters on the loading and unloading stiffness of the damper is analyzed in detail.(2)Using ABAQUS finite element software,the calculation model of self reset wood variable friction damper is established,and the correctness of the modeling process is proved by the finite element calculation of two similar friction dampers.(3)Using ABAQUS finite element software,the hysteretic performance of the damper under the action of low cycle reciprocating load is analyzed,the influence rule of each parameter on its hysteretic performance is clarified,and the hysteretic performance of the damper is preliminarily understood.(4)Under the action of low cycle reciprocating load,the damping force displacement curve of the self reset wood variable friction damper is "parallelogram +Flag".When the restoring force is zero,the distance between the damper and the initial position is 28.67mm(the maximum displacement is 70mm).The damper has a certain self reset ability,which proves the feasibility of the structure theoretically.(5)The slope of friction block has a direct impact on the output,stiffness and energy consumption performance of the working section of the damper slope,and has no impact on the starting and self resetting capacity of the damper.Increasing the slope of friction block can effectively improve the output,stiffness and energy consumption performance of the damper slope section,but the equivalent damping ratio will be smaller.(6)The bolt preload directly affects the output,energy consumption,equivalent damping ratio,equivalent stiffness and self resetting ability of the damper,and has little effect on the stiffness of each stage of the damper.Increasing the pre tightening force of the bolt is beneficial to the improvement of the opening and sliding force,energy dissipation capacity,equivalent damping ratio and its equivalent stiffness of the damper,but the self resetting capacity becomes worse.
