Sino-Russian Cooperation In The Field Of Nuclear Energy:Trends And Perspectives

This thesis is devoted to the issue of Sino-Russian cooperation in field of nuclear energy.Today,the problem of finiteness and reduction of natural energy resources is becoming more and more relevant.The current situation is a natural result,corresponding to the continuous growth of global energy consumption.The rapidly growing Chinese economy entails an increasing demand for electricity and Chinese authorities are trying to use various renewable sources in electricity production to avoid coal dependence.In this regard,China is increasingly interested in the development of the affordable and clean nuclear industry.Russia,in turn,is the 3rd largest producer of nuclear power in the world,after the United States and France and has extensive experience in the construction and operation of nuclear power plants.In this regard,Russia acts as one of the most interesting and important partners of China in the development of the local nuclear industry.By conducting the analysis of China’s and Russia’s status and perspectives in nuclear energy this thesis provided the ground for understanding why China and Russia need each other for sustainable development of its energy complexes.Research displayed the needs that China and Russia try to satisfy,the role of China and Russia in the international nuclear markets.The role of Russia is showed through the comparison with other energy suppliers and appealing to the origins of Sino-Russian cooperation in energy sphere.The research also estimates perspectives of Sino-Russian cooperation in nuclear energy,considering recent changes and tendencies in the industry.
