| City commercial banks vigorously develop green credit under the background of "dual carbon",which can not only bring new development opportunities to city commercial banks, but also bring them new development missions. However, due to the scale of assets, risk assessment capabilities, talent teams, etc.,there is still a certain gap between urban commercial banks and large joint-stock banks and state-owned banks,so they also face new challenges and problems in carrying out green credit business.Since the green credit business itself has the characteristics of long time, slow capital recovery, and large initial investment costs,it is worth exploring whether the improvement of the business performance of urban commercial banks when developing green credit business will have a restrictive effect. This thesis first sorts out the relevant literature on green credit and the operating performance of urban commercial banks at home and abroad, and then introduces the characteristics and problems of green credit business development in 16 urban commercial banks in China under the background of "dual carbon".After sorting out the current situation,it can be seen that even after the introduction of the "dual carbon" policy, the scale of green credit of various city commercial banks has increased, the number of credit products has increased, and the strategic system has been optimized, there are also some problems such as insufficient internal driving force and insufficient innovation of credit products in the implementation of green credit business by city commercial banks. Then, the "Camel Bank Rating System" is adopted, and financial indicators in profitability, safety and liquidity are selected to study the impact mechanism of green credit on the operating performance of urban commercial banks. In the empirical research stage, the factor analysis method is used to construct the business performance index system as the explanatory variable in the empirical study, and the operating performance of 16 city commercial banks is ranked, and the performance of the banks is compared and analyzed. Then,a panel regression model is established to analyze the impact of green credit on the business performance of urban commercial banks under the background of "dual carbon",and the bank samples are divided into northern and southern regions to compare and analyze the differences in the impact of green credit on the operating performance of urban commercial banks in different regions. At the same time, considering that with the deepening of the green and low-carbon economy and the continuous improvement of the governance mechanism of city commercial banks, the governance mechanism of city commercial banks will also have an impact on the business performance of the banks themselves, the governance mechanism of city commercial banks is added. After empirical research, three conclusions were drawn.Firstly, under the background of "dual carbon",green credit has not played a significant role in improving the overall business performance of 16 city commercial banks in China, and the positive adjustment regression coefficient is small, indicating that there is still a lot of room for development of urban commercial banks to improve their business performance by issuing green credit.Secondly, the positive impact of green credit on the operating performance of urban commercial banks in the southern region is significantly higher than that of urban commercial banks in the northern region.Thirdly, the governance mechanism of city commercial banks has a positive moderating effect on green credit and business performance. Finally, based on the background of “dual carbon” and the current problem of urban commercial banks developing green credit, and drawing on the typical excellent cases of individual urban commercial banks developing green credit, corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are proposed. |
