Mixed vapor explosions have become a common type of accident in the field of chemical safety. In order to explore the explosion boundary of combustible vapor, prevent and protect combustible vapor ignition, combustion, and explosion, and prevent and weaken the impact of the explosion wave, the factors affecting mixed vapor explosions of methanol and methacrolein are studied. The numerical simulation results of the concentration distribution and diffusion process of the mixed vapor in the confined space show that the mixed vapor of different methanol/methacrolein ratios in the confined space are stratified, and the vapor concentration at the bottom of the vessel is larger than that at the top of the vessel due to the influence of gravity. With the increase of the methanol/methacrolein ratios, the methanol concentration at the bottom of the vessel gradually increased;with the increase of initial pressure, the concentration distribution surface in the vessel gradually leveled off;and with the increase of initial temperature, the gradient of mixed concentration distribution in the vessel gradually expanded.Mixed vapor in the confined space of flame propagation experiments show that the combustion and explosion process can be roughly divided into three main stages: ignition and nucleation, rapid propagation and intense combustion, and flame extinguishing. As the methanol/methacrolein ratios increases, the flame propagation time first decreases and then increases. As the initial pressure increases, the flame propagation velocity decreases and the propagation time increases, while the initial temperature is reversed.Experiments on the explosion characteristics of mixed vapors show that as the methanol/methacrolein ratios(4-12)increases,the limit oxygen concentration of mixed vapors gradually increases, and the lower explosion limit and upper explosion limit are reduced. With the increase of initial pressure and temperature, the explosion limit of mixed vapor are all expanded.
