Research On The Application Of Cantonese Stained Glass Window Art Elements In Women’s Clothing Design

Cantonese stained glass windows,commonly known as "Manchurian windows",are a kind of window that combines decoration and practicality.As a representative of window decoration art in Lingnan,Cantonese stained glass windows have incorporated profound cultural accumulation in the long historical development process,thus forming their unique artistic style.Cantonese stained glass windows are composed of wooden frames and glass,the colors of glass are rich and bright,the patterns and shapes are diverse,the composition is ingenious,flexible and changeable,and the meanings are varied.There are more than 200 styles of Cantonese stained glass windows,and different windows bear different names.Its artistic features,a deep cultural connotation,and distinctive regional characteristics are all worth understanding and discussing.The research the main aspects of this project’s content are:This paper mainly starts from the historical development of Cantonese stained glass windows,understands the overview of Cantonese stained glass windows by consulting literature,discusses the research background and significance of Cantonese stained glass windows,and summarizes the research results related to Cantonese stained glass windows at home and abroad through literature research methods.Based on the relevant literature and historical book overview,the functional role of Cantonese stained glass windows in Lingnan folk houses is analyzed through physical analysis,and combined with the glass windows in Lingnan characteristic gardens,Cantonese opera museums and traditional houses in Guangzhou collected during field research as evidence,the artistic characteristics,cultural connotations and regional cultures are explored in,which provides a theoretical foundation for the application of Cantonese stained glass window art elements in women’s clothing design.According to the pattern science,artistic features of Cantonese stained glass windows are analyzed from aspects of color matching,pattern meaning,and composition characteristics of Cantonese stained glass windows.Using the method of pattern deconstruction,through the extraction of the modelling contour organizational structure,and common colors of Cantonese stained glass windows,according to the formal beauty law composed from modern motifs,extracted elements are simplified,distorted,deconstructed,and reorganized,and new patterns are designed.Combined with the existing examples of window art design applications,this paper analyzes the difficulties in the application of Cantonese stained glass windows in women’s wear design,and puts forward practical and innovative design methods based on professional knowledge and modern aesthetics,which provides a feasibility study for the application practice of combining Cantonese stained glass window art elements and design.In addition to this,through the design application method,the research results are obtained in practice.Taking the Cantonese stained glass window art elements as design inspiration and elements,following the design application principles,clarifying the reference and innovation methods of Cantonese stained glass window art elements in the specific design process,and verifying the research results with the author’s series of women’s clothing design examples,the esthetic value of Cantonese stained glass window art elements is realized.Cantonese stained glass windows are very regional,and each glass window gathers the aesthetics and wisdom among the inhabitants of the Guangfu region,showing the prosperity of foreign trade and economy and the frequent foreign cultural exchanges in the Guangfu area from the Qing Dynasty to the early People’s Dynasty.Through research and analysis of subject characteristics,artistic characteristics and cultural connotations of Cantonese stained glass windows,people can have a deeper understanding of Cantonese culture.Cantonese culture is inclusive,not only inheriting the Baiyue gene,but also nurtured by the Central Plains culture and the influence of Western culture,and the ancient post road and the Maritime Silk Road are indispensable,and Cantonese stained glass windows are the product of this inclusive culture.The extraction and design and application of Cantonese stained glass window art elements not only enriches the design and application form of domestic window decorative art,but also provides is something of a source of design inspiration for the field of women’s clothing design and at the same time narrates the history of Cantonese and promotes excellent traditional culture.
