In recent years,the world’s major oil companies have been accelerating their digital transformation in order to improve efficiency and reduce production costs.For petrochemical refineries with high requirements for production safety but low level of intelligence,the extensive application of inspection robot to assist manual inspection is an important entry point to improve the quality and efficiency of inspection and the level of industry intelligence.This paper investigates the content,process and difficulties of daily inspection in several refinery and chemical plants,and puts forward the functional requirements of inspection robot in the refinery.According to the functional requirements of the robot in the refinery,the design of the inspection robot’s motion control system,detection and identification system,power supply system and communication system,and the selection of key technologies and instruments of the robot are carried out.After the inspection robot is processed,the software platform of the inspection robot is deployed and the indoor function test is carried out to verify the normal operation of each key function,so as to complete the inspection robot factory acceptance.In order to explore the applicability of the inspection robot in the refinery site,this paper selects acrylonitrile workshop and atmospheric and vacuum workshop in the factory to conduct the on-site test of the inspection robot.Firstly,a field experiment platform is built from the experimental hardware deployment and experimental auxiliary conditions.Secondly,the inspection area and inspection content of the two workshops are determined respectively,and the inspection scheme of the two workshops is completed from three aspects: charging location selection,inspection route design and inspection task design.Finally,the experimental results of the two workshops are analyzed from two aspects of success rate and accuracy.After completion of the experiment,this article inspection robot is presented according to the experimental results in refinery application function optimization direction at six,involving the inspection robot detection respectively recognition,autonomous navigation technology optimization and upgrade of the software system of user experience,to prepare for the follow-up development of inspection robot and accumulate experience for the wide application of inspection robot in refinery and chemical plant.
