A new high-efficiency gas-solid separator of coupling a cyclone with an inner granular bed separator is investigated.In this separator,both the centrifugal separation mechanism of cyclone and the filtration mechanism of granular are coorporately coupled to improve the dust removal efficiency of dusty gas.A large-scale cold model experimental setup is used to compare and analyze the separators with two structural parameters(the swirl space ratios of 0.26 and 0.43).The effects of the operating parameters on the flow and separation characteristics of the separator are explored.Firstly,the influences of the inlet gas flowrate on the distribution characteristics of the local pressure and the local velocity for these two swirl space ratios are analyzed.The results show that the separators with two structural parameters are both operated stably;while the pressure and velocity in the separator with swirl space ratio of 0.43 vary more considerably under different inlet gas flowrate.Furthermore,the influence of inlet dust concentration on the pressure drop and separation efficiency of the separator is investigated.The values of the eigen-pressure gradients in these two two separators are almost the same;while the dust removal efficiency of the separator with a swirl space ratio of 0.43 is realtively higher.The influence of the concentration of regenerated dust source on the pressure drop and separation efficiency of the separator with a swirl space ratio of 0.43 is further analyzed.It is found that the performance of the separator is also dependent on the gas flowrate in the riser of the regeneration system.By analyzing the size distribution of the dusts those collected by the capaturing grannulars before and after regeneration,it is found that the grannular bed can effectively collect the dust smaller than 10 μm thereby the process of the coupling dust-removal with the cyclone and the particle bed are verified.Finally,the distributions of the local dust content in the inner grannular bed with swirl space ratio of0.43 are scrutinized.It is found that the local dust distribution in the bed is mainly related to the inlet dust concentration.Under the condition of low inlet dust concentration,the dust-removal/self cleaning of the built-in grannular bed is mainly determined by the carryout mechanism.Under a high inlet dust concentration,on the other hand,they depend on the co-work of a strong shear mechanism and a weak carryout mechanism.Based on the experimental results,an optimization scheme is put forward to further improve the separator.
