Driven by the global “dual-carbon” goal and the increasing demand for energy conservation and emission reduction,there is a growing interest in developing transparent heat-insulating materials for the building industry.Antimony-doped tin oxide(ATO)has emerged as a promising candidate due to its excellent combination of high visible light transparency and low near-infrared transmittance,which can significantly contribute to reducing building energy consumption while maintaining aesthetic appeal.In this study,we conducted a comprehensive investigation on the preparation and application of antimony-doped tin oxide(ATO)transparent heat-insulating coatings.Firstly,the co-precipitation method was identified as the optimal approach for synthesizing ATO nanoparticles,based on the analysis of various preparation techniques.Subsequently,ATO nanoparticles were prepared using the co-precipitation method,followed by a series of characterizations.Finally,ATO transparent heat-insulating coatings were prepared using the synthesized ATO nanoparticles as the core ingredient,and their performance was systematically evaluated.The results showed that the prepared ATO transparent heat-insulating coatings maintained excellent optical transparency while effectively reducing the transmittance of infrared light,thus minimizing heat input under solar irradiation.Furthermore,the coatings exhibited strong self-cleaning properties,which have the potential to reduce maintenance costs and extend the service life of building surfaces.Regarding future research prospects,several areas still warrant further investigation:(1)optimizing the preparation conditions of ATO nanoparticles to enhance their optical properties and thermal stability;(2)examining the influence of coating composition and thickness on the performance of the coatings to achieve the optimal combination of properties;(3)exploring the long-term weather resistance and environmental stability of the coatings to meet the demands of prolonged usage in buildings;(4)conducting practical application studies of the coatings in different architectural structures and scenarios to validate their effectiveness.In conclusion,this study provides valuable guidance for the preparation and application of ATO transparent heat-insulating coatings and demonstrates their extensive potential in the field of building energy conservation.It is hoped that further research and practice will enable ATO transparent heat-insulating coatings to play a more significant role in building energy efficiency,environmental protection,and sustainable development.
