In the research of optoelectronic materials based on metal halides, manganese(Ⅱ)halides have attracted wide research interest.Compared with optoelectronic materials based on iridium(Ⅲ),platinum(Ⅱ),ruthenium(Ⅱ)and other precious metal halides, manganese(Ⅱ)halides exhibit excellent characteristics, such as low cost, simple synthesis route, and good luminescent performance.Manganese(Ⅱ)halides with different metal center configurations, organic cation types, and space dimensions exhibit rich luminescent properties. Therefore, they have been widely regarded as one of the best low-cost optoelectronic materials. At present, the research on manganese(Ⅱ)halides still needs to be developed. For example, the structure-property relationship of manganese(Ⅱ)halides is not clear, and the application of manganese(Ⅱ)halides is still limited.Herein,we have designed and synthesized a series of manganese(Ⅱ)halides with new structures and explored their applications as scintillators for X-ray detection and imaging. The research work of this thesis is as follows:1.Design and synthesis of manganese(Ⅱ)bromide halides based on phosphine ligands for X-ray detection and imagingWe designed and synthesized a new series of manganese(Ⅱ)halides(C25H40P)2MnBr4,C26H44OPMnBr3 and(C21H38P)2MnBr4 based on phosphine ligands, and investigated their molecular structures and photophysical properties. From the single crystal structure,we found that the methanol molecule in halides C26H44OPMnBr3 is directly connected to the metal center through the oxygen atom, which led to the change of coordination environment of metal center, resulting in the bright yellow-green luminescence, while the halides(C25H40P)2MnBr4 with the common four coordinated manganese center shows green luminescence.By investigating halides(C25H40P)2MnBr4 and(C25H40P)2MnBr4 with the same metal center configuration,it is found that the photophysical properties of the two manganese(Ⅱ)halides are also quite different, which is due to the different structures of their organic cation ligands. We also explored the application of this series of manganese(Ⅱ)halides as scintillators for X-ray detection and imaging.2.Design and synthesis of manganese(Ⅱ)chloride halides based on nitrogen-containing ligands for X-ray detection and imagingWe designed and synthesized a series of manganese chloride(Ⅱ)halides based on nitrogen containing ligands, and obtained four halides(C9H12N)2MnCl4、C27H44N3O4Mn3Cl9、C11H18NOMnCl3 and C9H12NMnCl3 with the same organic cation ligand and different manganese metal central configurations.Through the investigation of their structures and photophysical properties,we found that the luminescent properties of these halides are directly related to the structures of the metal center, and the four halides show different emission wavelength, emission lifetime, and photoluminescence quantum yield. In addition,we also prepared the scintillator films based on these halides and applied them for X-ray detection and imaging.
