Research On Comprehensive Performance Of Nonferrous Metals Enterprises Based On ESG Concept

ESG,short for Environmental,Social and Corporate Governance,is a new evaluation criteria and investment philosophy that focuses on the performance of companies in environmental,social and corporate governance.Since recent years,China has been working hard to promote economic restructuring and gradually open up its capital market,reducing the opportunity cost of ESG investment in a downward economic environment,while regulatory requirements on ESG have become increasingly stringent.It is against this backdrop that regulators,listed companies and investors are increasingly concerned about their ESG performance.Chinese listed companies play a huge role in promoting China’s economic growth and promoting social development,and paying attention to the ESG performance of Chinese listed companies can further promote the sustainable development of listed companies,thereby enhancing the value of enterprises.Therefore,this thesis constructs a comprehensive performance evaluation system for non-ferrous metal enterprises based on ESG concepts,and selects Ganfeng Lithium as the research object.This thesis first reviews the domestic and foreign literature and related theories on ESG.Secondly,according to the scientific and comprehensive index design principles,the key indicators of ESG are selected from the four aspects of economy,environment,society and corporate governance,a comprehensive evaluation system based on the above four aspects is constructed,and the weight of the indicators is calculated by the entropy method.Then,the indicators are ranked by the calculated index weight,and then the comprehensive performance is calculated by the mutation series method.Finally,according to the actual data of Ganfeng Lithium from 2018 to 2021,the comprehensive performance of Ganfeng Lithium is calculated,and then the results are analyzed from four aspects:environmental,social,corporate governance and economy,and relevant suggestions are put forward.The study found that the overall performance of Ganfeng Lithium from 2018 to 2021 was better,and enterprises paid more attention to environmental,social and corporate governance,laying a good foundation for the long-term development of enterprises.Ganfeng Lithium’s environmental performance and corporate governance performance have declined in 2019,and enterprises need to continue to strengthen investment in the environment and further improve corporate governance;Social performance continues to rise,indicating that the management attaches great importance to corporate social responsibility.Therefore,this thesis puts forward relevant suggestions from the national level and the enterprise level,hoping that the research on the comprehensive performance evaluation system based on ESG concept in this thesis can attract the attention of enterprises to ESG comprehensive performance,and also provide a new perspective for other enterprises to conduct comprehensive performance evaluation.In conclusion,this thesis argues that the study of ESG performance can help strengthen enterprises’ attention to environmental protection,social responsibility and corporate governance,promote the sustainable development of enterprises,and then achieve sustainable development of society.
