Research On Functional Design Of Storage Furniture For Class C Motorhome

With the rapid development of economy,a higher level of spiritual and cultural needs has emerged.The development of tourism makes self-driving travel a hot topic.Among them,RV tourism is rising gradually because of its advantages such as the residence of the journey,the freedom of travel time and the convenience of family group travel.However,domestic RV products have appeared for a short time,and the industry lacks attention to the interior design of RV.In terms of storage,there are obvious problems such as inconvenient storage of RV items.Therefore,research is carried out on the storage related issues of Class C motorhome.Firstly,through desktop research,field investigation and other methods,the Class C motorhome products were investigated to obtain the storage furniture configuration and user storage conditions,and the existing problems were analyzed;Secondly,the data of touring car users are mined through weblog method,and the potential functional requirements of storage of Class C motorhome users are analyzed.Combined with the existing problems in product research,the functional requirements are summarized,and the storage functional requirements are prioritized through a-kano model to obtain the direction of design optimization;The functional requirements are logically sorted out through the fast functional system diagram to realize the transformation between user requirements and design elements;Finally,the design practice of Class C motorhome is carried out.Based on the storage function design,it is expanded to space optimization,and the design evaluation is carried out through comparative verification.The main research results are as follows:(1)The survey on the current situation of Class C motorhome products found that: first,the product survey information was summarized,and the storage furniture was equipped with refrigerator cabinets,microwave oven cabinets,cupboards under the stove,cupboards on the stove in the kitchen area,storage cupboards in the bedroom area,storage compartments in the bathroom area,cupboards on the deck in the activity area,and the rear through warehouse in the outdoor area,which were mainly in the form of cupboards;Storage furniture is mainly made of wood plywood.The size design is affected by the size of the chassis and other facilities.The structural connection of storage furniture is mainly screws and hinges.Second,the existing problems in product research are summarized.In terms of RV products,the layout and furniture configuration of products within the same brand in China are relatively unified,and no brand style has been formed.In terms of storage of RV,it is lack of storage practicability,and the large space hanging cabinet is placed irregularly;Lack of comfort,high and deep storage location,inconvenient and inadequate use;Lack of security considerations,bumps in small spaces,and storage needs to be further optimized according to user needs.(2)Through the method of weblog,the potential storage needs of Class C motorhome users are collected and summarized,which are divided into three categories: material function,spiritual function and coordinated function with the environment.A total of 13 main storage function needs are obtained,and the information such as items carried by users during travel is summarized.After the priority of a-kano questionnaire,the storage function requirements of RV were obtained,including: 1)use effectiveness: storage of laundry and kitchen utensils in the bathroom;2)Practicability: the convenience of daily necessities,the partition of large storage space in the hanging cabinet,and the partition panel unit can be adjusted;3)Use comfort: dry and wet separation,storage height adjustable;4)Storage safety: storage furniture is collision proof;5)Personalized barrier free: soft material of storage furniture and drug storage space;6)Coordination with internal objects: a buffer layer is set inside the storage.(3)According to the actual storage furniture configuration and storage conditions in the five functional areas of the space,the solution strategies for functional requirements are analyzed from the aspects of the furniture itself,the storage location of items,and the storage mode,including the differentiation of storage locations for different items,the design of convenient storage structures for lockers,the separation of dry and wet items through height difference storage,and the convenient and less convenient storage areas for horizontal dimensions.(4)In the design response stage,the common user groups are targeted,and the Class C motorhome function demand optimization is the main idea.The number and size of the specific items of the targeted users during tourism are summarized,and the design is carried out from two aspects: item storage planning and storage furniture optimization,so as to meet the storage function demand and solve the existing storage problems.After the storage function is met,it is expanded and optimized from the aspects of size design,space color,material selection,etc.(5)In terms of design evaluation,the existing products in the market were compared with the optimized products,and the storage analysis was carried out by scenario simulation.The optimization effect was evaluated by Likert scale.The results showed that the storage space of Class C motorhome increased by 18.8% as the starting point of the existing storage problems and storage function requirements in the previous study.Besides,the storage convenience,storage regularity and coordination of items and furniture of the functional areas of Class C motorhome have been improved,which can solve the problems of irregular storage,lack of comfort and practicability of the RV obtained in the early stage,and users are satisfied with the overall design.
