| The global climate problem is becoming more and more serious.A large amount of greenhouse gas emissions have caused many problems. Most of the greenhouse gas emissions are produced by human production activities.Reducing greenhouse gas emissions has become an important research object in the political and economic fields in the 21st century.Carbon reduction Emission reduction has reached the point of no delay.China is a major exporter of textiles and garments. The manufacturing industry brings a large amount of greenhouse gas emissions.Carbon emissions have always been among the highest in the world. This is not in line with the direction of future economic development. It is necessary to reduce carbon emissions to reduce the generation of greenhouse gases. In 2020,my country proposed the goal of"double carbon",that is,to complete the carbon peak in 2030 and complete the goal of carbon neutrality in 2060.Textile industry is the traditional pillar industry of our national economy, which occupies an important position in the world. The textile industry is an important source of greenhouse gas emissions in the manufacturing industry, and measures should be taken to reduce emissions. The Chinese government has issued a series of emission reduction requirements, textile enterprises must actively respond to the challenge, take measures to reduce carbon emissions, improve the environmental value of products,in order to remain invincible in the market competition. One of the key tasks is to analyze the greenhouse gas emissions of enterprises and products, and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.Carbon footprint accounting is widely used.It is a quantitative index and the main method used to assess the environmental impact of enterprises and products in the world. Some advanced textile enterprises in China have started to calculate the carbon footprint of their companies and products, learn about greenhouse gas emissions, and study emission reduction plans for key emission links in order to achieve low-carbon transition. The primary task of energy conservation and emission reduction in textile industry is to accurately calculate the industrial carbon footprint of textile products.Due to various types of textile products, complex production processes, large number of materials involved, extensive management methods, lack of sufficiently detailed data and other reasons, the existing carbon footprint accounting methods and standards of textile products cannot solve the core problem, namely quantitative calculation and decomposition of inventory. This paper uses bottom-up method to analyze the whole life cycle of polyester and cotton knitted hoodie and establishes carbon footprint emission model. The overall concept of"cradle to gate"is adopted, and the method of evaluating the carbon footprint of products is referred to the BSENISO 14040 and the PAS 2050 Guidelines for Use Specifications. This model is based on the process analysis method, takes the"number of finished garments"as the functional unit, and calculates and analyzes the carbon emissions in the raw material acquisition stage(cotton planting to seed cotton to lint, oil to polyester),yarn processing stage, fabric weaving stage, dyeing and finishing stage, clothing printing and sewing stage, and transportation process. This topic selects fabric gram weight 260 g/m2,yarn configuration is:the face yarn19.4 tex(cotton/polyester 60/40)+ground yarn 8.3 tex(polyester)+fleecy yarn 41.9 tex(cotton/polyester 60/40)was processed into a single piece of men’s T/C sweater weighing700 g.Data collection and accounting were carried out for each process, and the carbon emission value of single piece of T/C sweater was calculated as 6.996 kg CO2e.The carbon emission value of yarn raw material was 4.825 kg CO2e,accounting for 69.3%.The carbon emission value of weaving was 0.12 kg CO2e,accounting for 1.7%,The carbon emission value of dyeing and finishing processing was 1.453 kg CO2e,accounting for 20.9%.The carbon emission value of printing and sewing was 0.568 kg CO2e,accounting for8.2%.The carbon emission value of yarn raw material accounts for the largest proportion, followed by the carbon emission value of dyeing and finishing processing.According to the data, the carbon emission value of each ton of lint is 1231.54kg CO2e,and the carbon emission value of each ton of polyester is 9165.9 kg CO2e.The carbon emission value of polyester is more than 3 times that of lint. Therefore, cotton fiber should be given priority in yarn design or the proportion of cotton fiber should be increased to achieve the effect of reducing carbon emission.Different fiber components and thickness specifications of yarns will lead to different proportion of polyester and cotton fabrics woven, different daily output, and also lead to different carbon emissions per ton of fabric.Carbon emission can be reduced by selecting raw materials, optimizing yarn blending ratio and yarn count, and adopting low-carbon spinning and weaving methods. The carbon emission database of polyester/cotton hoodie was established, and the accounting software KG-LCA was developed, which could be used to calculate the carbon footprint of the whole life cycle of polyester/cotton hoodie from raw material to finished product. |
