| In order to alleviate the confusion of functions caused by the increase of usage scenarios and the complexity of user needs,this study re-orientated the side table from both functions and users,and designed the side table according to users’ needs.Through market research,the general situation of existing edge shops and the purpose of users’ use of edge shops were known.The functions of side tables were subdivided according to the purpose of use,and the market direction to be developed of side tables were found from the gap between supply and demand,and the functions were positioned and verified in the follow-up investigation;according to the user’s use purpose,the functional orientation of side tables were determined,the related characteristics of the target users were analyzed by questionnaire and interview,the user orientation of side tables was obtained by determining the users,motivation and situation.By analyzing user feedback and observing user behavior,the obvious and potential needs of users were found,and the attribute of the needs was judged by Kano model.The user needs were transformed into several functions,and the priority of several functions was obtained.Finally,according to the investigation results,the design scheme of the side table was put forward,and the scheme was evaluated and modified by fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method.The mechanical properties of the side table were tested and the structure was optimized by finite element analysis method,and the scheme of the side table was finally confirmed.The main research results are as follows:(1)Side tables have been divided into office-type side tables,leisure-type side tables,children’s learning-type side tables,and helping the elderly to eat side tables by the users’ actual use purpose.Among them,the proportion of side tables purchased by users for office is as high as45%,but only 18% of side tables with clear office attributes on the market,and the supply is smaller than the demand.Besides,users have many problems in the use process of office-type side tables,which can be used as the development direction of side tables.(2)The essential feature of office-type side tables users is that they need sofas to undertake most of the activities in their living environment.Their real appeal is to quickly provide office conditions for users to complete temporary work when they are resting on sofas,that is,to meet the transformation between users’ leisure state and office state.The main users of office-type side tables are unmarried young people who have left their hometown to rent houses in new first-tier and first-tier cities.The secondary users are unmarried young people and childless couples living with their parents.When choosing a table,users will take the size and whether it can meet the purpose of use as the primary consideration,followed by the appearance,quality,price and other factors.(3)Stability,bearing capacity and warmth are essential requirements;Office comfort,mobility,aesthetics,and table leg scale are expected requirements;Storage property,desktop scale,dependence,table height scale and support are attractive requirements;versatility,storage and combination are indifferent requirements,so this type of requirements can be ignored in the design process of the side table. |
