China is a large country of magnesium resources, accounting for about 22.5% of the total global reserves, ranking first in the world. Therefore, how to make good use of this huge resource and develop the magnesium alloy material with good comprehensive performance has become a topic of increasing concern in China. In this paper, numerical simulation and experimental method are used to study the material flow law of ZK60 magnesium alloy multi-layer shell parts during reverse extrusion forming process, and analyze the influence law of each process parameter on the organization and mechanical properties of magnesium alloy. The following research results were obtained:(1)Process analysis of the part, the formulation of the forming process and each process parameters. The finite element simulation software was used to numerically simulate the material flow law during the forming process of ZK60 magnesium alloy, analyze the change law of stress field, temperature field, damage coefficient and mold load force of each process parameter, and optimize the process parameters and mold structure.(2)The microstructure simulation of ZK60 magnesium alloy reverse extrusion forming process was carried out by the method of metamerism automata(CA),and the influence law of process parameters on the microstructure was analyzed, and the simulation results have some guiding significance for the experiment and actual production.(3)The experimental study of reverse extrusion of ZK60 magnesium alloy multilayer shell parts was conducted, and the influence law of process parameters on the surface quality and microstructure of shell parts was analyzed. The results show that the multi-layer shell parts can be successfully extruded by using homemade extrusion die and optimized counter-extrusion process parameters;the grain refinement occurs during the counter-extrusion forming process, which effectively improves the organizational and mechanical properties of ZK60 magnesium alloy.
