Preparation And Characterization Of Surface Modified CNTs Modified Epoxy Composites | | Posted on:2021-12-19 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:K N Yang | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2531307109475674 | Subject:Industry Technology and Engineering | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | The addition of CNTs to epoxy has great advantage in improving the mechanical properties,thermodynamic properties and tribological properties of epoxy.However,CNTs can cause serious entanglement due to its strong van der Waals interaction.This serious entanglement will lead to poor dispersion of CNTs in the solvent and poor interface interaction between CNTs and epoxy resin.Therefore,CNTs must be modified to improve the dispersion of the epoxy composites.In this paper,a series of CNTs epoxy composites with improvedproperties were prepared by surface modified CNTs.The main research contents are as follows:1.CNTs were treated with the aniline trimer(AT)as a noncovalent dispersant agent and the polyoxyethylene octyl phenyl ether(Triton X-100)as a nonionic surfactant.And several groups of surface modified CNTs were prepared.UV-Vis spectra showed the successful combination of two dispersants and CNTs.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)analysis and transmission electron microscopy(TEM)analysis showed the dispersion effect was best when the mass ratio of AT to Triton X-100 was 1:1.2.Bisphenol A epoxy nanocomposites with different CNTs contents were prepared by adding treated-CNTs.Their mechanical properties,micro morphology,tribological properties and thermodynamic properties were studied.The results show that the addition of treated CNTs improves the tensile properties of epoxy resin,reduces the wear rate and friction coefficient,and does not affect the thermal stability of the composites.When the content of treated-CNTs is 0.25wt%,the comprehensive properties of bisphenol A epoxy nanocomposites is best.3.Bisphenol F epoxy nanocomposites with different CNTs contents were prepared by adding treated-CNTs.The results show that the addition of treated-CNTs greatly improves the tensile and flexural properties of the epoxy resin,reduces the glass transition temperature of the composites,slightly reduces the maximum decomposition temperature and thermal decomposition temperature of the composites,but does not change thermal stability before 300℃.When the content of treated-CNTs is 1.5wt%,the mechanical properties of Bisphenol F epoxy nanocomposites is best. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | carbon nanotubes, noncovalent dispersant, nonionic surfactant, surface modification, epoxy, mechanical properties | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
