| With the increasing requirements slurry pumps on material hardness,impact toughness,and erosion wear performance,traditional metal materials such as nickel hard white cast iron and chromium cast iron have been difficult to meet the requirements of more severe working conditions.However,particle reinforced metal matrix composites have received widespread attention from scientific and technological personnel due to their excellent comprehensive performance.In this paper,Ti NC,Ti C,Cr3C2,and Si C particles reinforced high chromium cast iron composites are prepared by lost-foam casting technology.The effects of the types and amounts of reinforcement particles on the microstructure and properties of high chromium cast iron composites are studied.Different types and contents of Ti NC,Ti C,Cr3C2,and Si C particles are mixed with EPS beads through adhesive,and a lost-foam model of composites containing Ti NC,Ti C,Cr3C2,and Si C particles is prepared by self-made experimental mold.Then,a test block of Ti NC,Ti C,Cr3C2,and Si C particles reinforced high chromium cast iron composite is prepared by lost-foam casting process.The microstructure of the composite specimen is analyzed by metallographic microscope,scanning electron microscope,EDS,and XRD.The macroscopic distribution of composite reinforcement particles is observed.And the binary treatment of the metallographic structure is carried out.The average density and standard deviation of the distribution of ceramic particles at the bottom,middle and top of the composite test block are calculated by VScode editor.The results show that the ceramic particle distribution in the middle of the test block is relatively uniform.The distribution of elements is observed by means of EDS line scanning and surface scanning,and the interfacial reaction products between the reinforced particles and the matrix are analyzed by XRD.The property of the composite test block is tested by Rockwell hardness tester and impact testing machine,and the fracture mechanism of the composite test block is analyzed.Abrasion experiment is conducted on the prepared composite test block by the erosion wear tester made by slurry pump manufacturer.The types and amounts of ceramic particles have a significant impact on the erosion wear of the composite test block.The wear amount of8Vol.%(Ti C+Cr3C2)/HCCI composite is the least,and it has good wear resistance.8 Vol.%(Ti NC+Cr3C2)reinforced high chromium cast iron matrix slurry pump impeller castings are prepared by the lost-mold casting process.Samples are taken from eight positions:top,bottom,left,right,upper left,lower left,upper right,and lower right.The left and right positions have good uniformity and mechanical properties. |
