Residents’ daily consumption patterns have an important impact on energy conservation, emission reduction and climate change. The transformation to lowcarbon consumption mode is an important issue to be solved by theoretical researchers and policy makers.Consumption pattern is the most significant factor affecting household consumption carbon emissions.Consumption mode is the most significant factor influencing household consumption carbon emissions. The positive change of household consumption mode will promote the reduction of household carbon emissions.Guiding and encouraging residents to practice low-carbon consumption mode is important to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the residential sector. With the development of economy, the income of residents is increasing. The pursuit of quality of life will encourage residents to consume more goods, which may lead to more serious carbon emission problems.Handling the relationship between residents’ consumption and carbon emission, guiding and encouraging the transformation of public consumption mode,is important to achieve the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutralization. The change of residents’ consumption mode, individual psychological factors are internal motivation, external factors will also have a certain impact.By analyzing the psychological variables of low-carbon consumption behavior and how external factors affect residents’ low-carbon consumption behavior, the influence mechanism of each factor was clarified, the differences of different characteristic groups were analyzed, and solutions are found for how to formulate policies and measures to promote residents’ low-carbon consumption behavior.Firstly,in-depth interviews were conducted on residents’ low-carbon consumption behavior, and in-depth analysis was conducted on the obtained research data based on grounded theory. The main factors influencing residents’ low-carbon consumption behavior were determined, the influencing path of each factor was preliminarily analyzed, and the model of influence mechanism of low-carbon consumption behavior was proposed. Then, the theoretical model was tested and modified by questionnaire survey.According to the interview content and extracted influential factors,a scale was designed for data collection. The structural equation model was constructed to verify the individual psychological factors and external factors.Bootstrap method was used to explore and test the mediating effect of pre-variables,and the mechanism of each influencing factor was clarified. The differences of different characteristic groups were analyzed by independent sample T test. The results show that behavior intention and low-carbon knowledge directly promote residents’ low-carbon consumption behavior, and psychological variables such as values, subjective norms and perceived behavior control promote residents’ lowcarbon consumption behavior through behavior intention.Policies and regulations have an impact on low-carbon consumption behavior through individual psychological awareness.Publicity and education can directly promote residents’ low-carbon consumption behavior, and can have a significant impact on the behavior by improving residents’ low-carbon knowledge.Groups with different gender, age, educational background, family structure and monthly family income have significant differences in low-carbon consumption. On this basis,it provided targeted policy ideas for the government to guide residents to change to a low-carbon consumption mode. |
