Nowadays,people have more requirements for the function of building.The decorative concrete needs to be improved innovatively.The waste glass after cleaning and recycling has excellent aesthetic properties,and the luminescent powder(LP)possesses the ability of trapping light on the daytime and emitting it in the darkness,no consuming electricity.This study combined the two materials to prepare an environmentally friendly decorative luminescent building,in which the LP was responsible for glowing light and recycled glass(RG)for transmission.Firstly,this study used adhesive to bond LP and RG to prepare luminescent-glass(LG).Then,LG was added into white cement to prepare luminescent-glass-concrete(LGC).Finally,the performances such as mechanical properties,durability,luminescent properties etc.of LGC were tested and its mechanisms were analyzed by hydration heat,microhardness,electron microscopy etc.in order to explore the optimal mix proportion and preparation process to LGC.The detailed research contents and conclusions are as follows:(1)When studying the influence of the size of LG in LGC,it was found that LG particle size had no obvious impact on the performances of LGC.The LGC achieved the requisite strength(compressive strength 27~30MPa,flexural strength 6~7MPa on 28 days),little alkali-silica reaction expansion and excellent luminescent property(initial brightness 3.2 10-4cd/m2,8-hours brightness0.20cd/m2).It proved the feasibility of LG as 100%sand aggregate replacement in cement system.However,the compressive strength of LGC was significantly reduced since adhesive would form a film between cement particles to prevent its contact with water and delay cement hydration.(2)When studying the effect of LP on LGC,it was found that all LGC could exhibit 250~450nm excitation wavelength and 510~530nm emission wavelength.Compared with Zn S LP,the LGC prepared by Sr Al2O4 LP presented better glow light performances.LP with larger size or no coating exhibited higher luminescent intensity.However,the adhesive presented poor aging resistance because its chain structure was easily destroyed and it was degraded into a brown one under radiation,which hindered light transmission.(3)There were some problems for LGC above:1)The adhesive delayed the cement hydration and reduced LGC’s strength;2)The adhesive was degraded into brown under radiation and hindered light propagation.Therefore,in the last part of this study,the process of producing LGC was improved,in which the LG was covered by“dry and white powder”.It was shown that the delaying of cement hydration and the degraded area under radiation were reduced,which might be associated with dilution of adhesive.
