The production of furoic acid,a high value-added chemical intermediate,has practical significance to solve a series of problems such as low price and excess capacity of furfural.At present,the production technology of furfuroic acid from furfural mainly includes Cannizzaro reaction,oxidant oxidation reaction,catalytic oxidation reaction and biocatalytic reaction which is emerging in recent years.In this study,furoic acid was prepared by catalytic oxidation reaction which has the prospect of industrial production.Compared with other production processes,the catalytic oxidation production process avoids the use of biocatalysts that are not easy to prepare,and is suitable for industrial production because of its simple preparation method,high yield,good economy and environmental protection.The alkaline reaction system can effectively avoid the surface adsorption of furoate,so as to maintain the activity of catalyst and improve the production efficiency.However,the presence of OH~-leads to the inevitable side reaction of furfural,namely the Cannizzaro reaction,which is competitive with catalytic oxidation reaction and is not conducive to the improvement of furfural yield.The research idea of this paper is to control the process conditions to inhibit the Cannizzaro reaction,improve the efficiency of catalytic oxidation reaction,and finally increase the yield of furoic acid.This paper focuses on the study of catalytic oxidation reaction and its side reactions,and investigates the inhibition of reaction conditions such as reaction temperature and alkaline solution concentration Cannizzaro reaction and the influence on the efficiency of catalytic oxidation reaction.The main research contents are as follows:The paper systematically investigated the effects of furfuryl alcohol,organic solvent,reaction temperature,alkaline solution concentration and molar ratio of reactants on Cannizzaro reaction.The results indicated that alkaline solution concentration and the uneven mixing of reactants caused by the increase of viscosity of the system can influence significantly on the Cannizzaro reaction.Based on the study of disproportionation reaction,the influences of catalyst amount,reaction temperature,molar ratio of reactant,feeding mode and other technological conditions on catalytic oxidation efficiency were systematically studied.The experimental results showed that the catalytic oxidation efficiency was positively correlated with the mixing degree of the reactants.In other words,the two-flow addition system was adopted,with the control of the drip time of 40 min,the concentration of the drip lye of 15 wt.%and the initial addition of 100 m L of water,the white needle crystallized furoic acid was finally obtained,and the yield was as high as 91.3%.
