Construction Of Evaluation System For Carbon Emission Reduction Readiness Of Chemical Enterprises And Its Impact On Earnings Per Share

Under the low-carbon economic situation,the chemical industry is one of the high-pollution and high-emission industries in my country,and low-carbon emission reduction is an urgent task for this industry.As an important participant in carbon emission reduction and the main source of carbon emission,enterprises should disclose and reflect their own carbon emission and carbon emission reduction preparation status,and evaluate the respective carbon emission levels among enterprises.However,judging from the current research,low-carbon research mainly focuses on the evaluation of carbon emission reduction at the national and regional levels,and rarely discusses the evaluation of carbon emission reduction at the enterprise level.And from the perspective of corporate carbon information disclosure,the information disclosed by listed companies has no uniform standards and specific indicators and less information.On the one hand,it is because the government has not issued corresponding information disclosure guidelines and policies;on the other hand,companies are not sensitive enough to the economic benefits brought about by carbon emission information disclosure.Earnings per share is an important financial indicator to predict the growth ability of enterprises and evaluate the profitability of enterprises.Whether the carbon emission reduction actions of enterprises will have an impact on the financial performance of enterprises,and what kind of impact is an important issue that enterprises are concerned about.This paper starts from the establishment of an evaluation system for corporate carbon emission reduction readiness,and explores the impact of carbon emission reduction readiness on corporate earnings per share.This paper first defines the concept of carbon emission reduction readiness from the theoretical basis,and reviews the research on carbon emission reduction readiness and corporate financial performance by using the literature research method.According to the research results of carbon emission reduction evaluation system at home and abroad and the development status of chemical enterprises,a set of scientific and reasonable carbon emission reduction readiness index system is constructed.In this way,the carbon emission reduction situation of chemical enterprises can be evaluated in detail.Taking the A-share companies of China’s chemical industry in Shanghai and Shenzhen stock markets as research samples during the period from 2019 to 2021,carbon emission reduction readiness is selected as the independent variable,corporate earnings per share as the dependent variable,and return on assets as the moderating variable to study carbon emission reduction The impact of readiness on corporate earnings per share and further explore the interaction of return on assets on the main effect of carbon accounting readiness and corporate earnings per share.Finally,the robustness of the above process is checked by replacing the explained variables and verifying the subdivision dimension.The study found that with the introduction of the dual-carbon policy,the company’s carbon emission reduction readiness has a significant positive impact on the company’s earnings per share.And the stronger the ability to return on assets,the stronger the positive impact of carbon emission reduction readiness on corporate earnings per share.From this conclusion,it can be concluded that the active implementation of carbon emission reduction actions by enterprises has a positive impact on the growth and development of enterprises,and also provides a theoretical basis and motivation for further implementation of carbon emission reduction actions.And finally put forward targeted suggestions on how enterprises can better deal with carbon emission reduction.
