| Copper is widely used in electrical contact materials because of its good conductivity and excellent ductility.However,its application is limited by its low hardness and its tendency to oxidize at low temperatures.Alumina particles have the advantages of low density,high hardness,high tensile strength and low cost.As the reinforcement phase of copper matrix composite material,it can effectively improve the shortcomings of low hardness and poor tensile property of copper matrix,and effectively enhance the anti-wear property of copper matrix.However,the wettability between copper and alumina is poor,so the alumina particles can not give full play to its strengthening effect.In order to effectively improve the interface bonding strength of copper and alumina,this paper uses electroless plating method to respectively plating copper and silver on alumina,and explores the effect of electroless plating process on the quality of the coating.Al2O3/Cu and Al2O3/Ag composites with different alumina contents were prepared by SPS.The effects of alumina content and different interfaces on the microstructure,mechanics,physics and tribological properties of the composites were investigated.The following conclusions were reached:(1)The best silver plating process is 1g alumina at room temperature with 120 m L silver ammonia solution of 20 g/L.The optimum copper plating process is 1g alumina plating with 12 g/L copper sulfate pentahydrate solution at 40℃.(2)With the increase of alumina content,the electrical and thermal conductivity of the composites decreased gradually,but the Brinell hardness and tensile strength increased.(3)The chemical coating can effectively strengthen the interface bonding,so that the composite material has better performance.The excellent mechanical properties of the composites can be obtained by silver plating on the surface of alumina,and the better physical properties of the composites can be obtained by copper plating on the surface of alumina.(4)The wear rate of the composite decreases with the increase of alumina content,and the silver coated composite has a lower wear rate under the condition of the same alumina content. |
