With the development of cutting technology and the enhancement of global environmental awareness,the use of dry cutting technology is becoming more and more extensive.The tool is prone to adhesive wear and friction wear during the dry cutting process,which reduces the service life of the tool.Therefore,reducing the tool adhesion and the friction between the tool and the chip becomes the key to improving the service life of the tool.Studies have shown that gradient cutting tools can improve the wear resistance of cutting tools.Higher requirements are placed on the wear resistance of gradient tools with the emergence of difficult-to-machine materials.In this study,gradient materials were combined with micro-texturing to further improve the wear resistance of gradient tools.Micro-textures are fabricated on the surface of graded carbide tools.Research on the cutting performance of micro-textured graded carbide tools.The main research contents and conclusions are as follows:(1)Research on the preparation process of micro-textured gradient carbide cutting tools.Gradient cemented carbide tool prepared by microwave nitriding sintering technology.The effects of sintering temperature and holding time on the physical and mechanical properties of graded carbide tool materials were studied.The structure and composition of graded carbide tool materials are analyzed.Fabrication of micro-textures on the surface of graded carbide tools by using laser machining techniques.A quadratic regression model was established between the depth of micro-texture and the machining parameters of laser marking machine(scan times,scanning speed,marking power and pulse frequency).The law of influence of laser marking machine processing parameters on micro-texture depth is obtained.Laser marking machine processing parameters for different micro-texture depths are predicted.(2)Research on cutting simulation of micro-textured gradient carbide tool.ABAQUS software was used to establish a two-dimensional cutting simulation model of micro-textured gradient carbide tools.The micro-texture parameters(spacing,width and depth)of the micro-textured gradient carbide tool were optimized based on the surface response method with the aim for minimum cutting force.The influence of micro-texture parameters on cutting force was analyzed.The simulation model of micro-texture gradient carbide tool is established based on the optimized micro-texture parameters,and compared with the gradient carbide tool cutting simulation.Analysis shows that micro-texture reduces stress,cutting force and cutting temperature during cutting with gradient carbide tools.Micro-texture changes temperature distribution during tool cutting.(3)Research on cutting performance of micro-textured graded carbide tools.The cutting experiment of micro-textured gradient carbide tool was carried out.Accuracy of cutting simulation verified.The effect of micro-texture on the cutting force of gradient carbide tools under different cutting parameters was studied.The influence of micro-texture on tool wear,tool adhesion and chip shape was analyzed.The results show that the tool life of gradient cemented carbide is 58.3% higher than that of ordinary cemented carbide,and the life of micro-textured gradient cemented carbide is 21% higher than that of gradient cemented carbide.
