At present,the convenient and fast integration of media has greatly impacted the newspaper industry,in addition to the status of print media has been affected,some necessary costs have made the already thin profit printing industry like a burden.Therefore,how to improve its own competitiveness,eliminate all kinds of waste,make full use of existing resources,and make enterprise management more standardized has become a key factor affecting the survival of newspaper printing plants.The production line of Beijing DJ Printing Company studied in this paper has problems such as unifying station time,high overall production cycle,high idle rate of the machine,and there is a large gap in the load of each working station,resulting in unbalanced and uneconomical production line,so how to optimize the production line has become a problem of practical significance.Based on the research method of production line balance at home and abroad,this paper draws the workshop operation unit division diagram,workshop floor layout diagram,production line process flow chart,and each process working hour chart according to the problems existing in the enterprise,collects relevant data,and optimizes and improves the production line balance problem.Firstly,four traditional industrial engineering methods,namely the production line fishbone analysis method,the on-site improvement study method,the ECRS principle improvement method and the operation analysis method,were used to improve the production line,secondly,the genetic algorithm based on MATLAB was used to continue to improve,and finally the production line was simulated by Flexsim,and the simulation results before and after the improvement were compared and analyzed.The balance rate of Beijing DJ Printing Company’s production line before optimization was only 39%;Through the traditional industrial engineering method to improve the whole production line macroscopically,after the splitting and merging of the work steps,the improvement effect is obvious,the working time of each station is reduced,the processing time of each station on the printing production line is more balanced,the balance rate of the production line is increased from 39% to 45.81%,an increase of 6.81%,the processing time of the entire production line is reduced from 4282.68 seconds to 2309 seconds,the overall reduction is 1973.68 seconds,and the time is shortened by up to 46%.Finally,the genetic algorithm was used to improve it,and the production line balance rate was 70%.The smoothing index of the production line before the improvement was 832.87,and after the improvement of traditional industrial engineering methods,the smoothness index of the production line was reduced to 350.2,and then the genetic algorithm was used to improve the production line,and the smoothing index of the production line was 50,which was 1/16 of the beginning,and the improvement effect was obvious.Through Flexsim simulation,the idle rate and utilization rate before and after the improvement are compared,and the efficiency of the optimized production line has been significantly improved,the idle rate of each machine after the improvement is greatly reduced,and the total number of products produced after the improvement is 57 more than the total number of products before the improvement,reaching more than twice the total number of products produced before the improvement.This shows that the optimization method has important theoretical and practical significance,and the improvement research and suggestions for the printing production line in this paper have certain guiding significance for manufacturing enterprises with similar production modes to this enterprise.
