Along with the steady improvement of our country’s economic level,domestic sports goods enterprises have experienced rapid development,and nowadays China has become one of the world’s leading sports goods import and export countries.With the fast development of the sports goods industry and the continuous increase in the number of enterprises,the challenges faced by China’s sports goods industry are also increasing.Compared with advanced countries,Chinese sports goods enterprises have certain limitations and shortcomings in terms of equipment,technology,and brand influence.Upgrading the industry and transforming management are considered inevitable directions for enterprises to achieve sustainable development.Mergers and acquisitions,as an effective way of resource integration,can obtain the advantageous resources possessed by both parties’ brands,which is an important development approach to maintaining the core competitiveness for sports goods enterprises.Given the previous context,this study delved into the Anta cross-border acquisition of Amer Sports in-depth.Utilizing the synergy effect theory and employing multiple analytical methods such as market research,financial performance indicators,and entropy value method,the impact of this merger and acquisition event on Anta’s performance was fully analyzed.The first part of the thesis introduces the background and significance of the research,summarizing the research results of the motives,performance,and influencing factors of mergers and acquisitions through extensive reading of domestic and foreign literature.The second part details the concepts and theories related to cross-border mergers and acquisitions.The third part centers around the Anta cross-border acquisition of Amer Sports,starting from the specific situation of both parties in the acquisition,conducting a detailed review of the background,process,and results of this cross-border acquisition event based on a comprehensive analysis of the motives for the acquisition.The fourth part of this article is about performance analysis,mainly using the event study method to compare and analyze Anta’s Hong Kong stock market value before and after the acquisition,and conducting a comparative study of its operating performance from both financial and non-financial perspectives.By using the entropy value method and selecting ten sets of relevant data that affect the performance of the acquisition,the overall performance of Anta after the acquisition was analyzed in-depth and summarized the effect of this acquisition.As the final part of the main body of this article,Chapter Five summarizes the case study of Anta’s acquisition of Amer Sports in detail,drawing relevant insights and conclusions.This article takes the case of ANTA’s cross-border acquisition of Amer Sports as the research subject,quantitatively analyzes its performance before and after the acquisition,and evaluates the performance after the acquisition.The research results provide effective reference for cross-border mergers and acquisitions of other sports equipment enterprises,and have certain enlightening significance for promoting the practice and theory of win-win cooperation in cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
