In recent years, intelligent ships have become a new hot spot in the international maritime community, and intelligent navigation systems are one of the key technologies that need to be broken through in the research of intelligent ships.Geographical Information System has good integration and visualization capabilities for navigation data and complete spatial analysis functions, which can provide a solid underlying platform for intelligent navigation systems.Based on the background mentioned above, this paper carries out the analysis of ship route and collision danger zone under the Geographic Information System. As a result, the navigation safety of the ship is guaranteed, and it makes a certain contribution to the research and development of the related module functions of the ship’s intelligent navigation system. The specific research content is as follows:(1)This paper constructs a route automatic generation and optimization method to to avoid static obstacles. The water depth distribution of the navigation area was spatially interpolated based on the water depth point, and the shallow water obstructing navigation area is extracted according to the safe water depth required by the ship.Based on the safe passage distance of own ship,a buffer analysis of the fixed obstruction was carried out,and the fixed obstruction and its buffer zone were combined into a fixed obstruction area.Through the merge analysis of the obstructing area, the initial route is generated based on the Dijikstra algorithm, and the redundant waypoints in the initial route are eliminated by the Douglas-Peuker algorithm, and the range loss caused by the grid path finding method is reduced.(2)This paper constructs the analysis method of the collision danger zone of the route segment to realize the analysis of the dynamic danger of the target ship within a certain range of the route.Based on the arena model, the minimum intrusion factor and other parameters are constructed to identify the collision risk between ships, and the advantages of the identification parameters based on the arena model are verified by comparing with the traditional danger identification parameters(DCPA/TCPA).The danger identification parameters based on the arena model are used to calculate the collision risk to realize the quantitative analysis of the collision risk between ships. The collision risk identification parameters based on the ship arena model are used to construct the Collision Danger Zone range, and the geographic spatial interpolation method is used to determine the spatial distribution of the collision risk in the zone.By comparing and optimizing the spatial interpolation method, the natural neighborhood interpolation method with the error controlled within 4% is selected for the verification experiment.(3)Relying on the planned route output by the automatic route generation and optimization method, the collision risk identification method and collision risk domain analysis method constructed are used to realize the visualization of the collision risk of the local segment on the planned route of the ship. The analysis and visualization process of the Collision Danger Zone of the non-turning segment and the segment with waypoints were constructed respectively. The verification experiment was carried out by setting up simulated ship encounter case scenarios, which verified that the method constructed in this paper can identify the collision risk between ships, and visualize the danger range on the ship’s planned route and the spatial distribution of the collision risk, and the result can provide a reference for collision avoidance decision-making.Facing the needs of intelligent ships and maritime traffic safety assurance, this paper realizes the organic combination of spatial information analysis tools and navigational professional information. The researched route and Collision Danger Zone analysis methods can play a supporting role in ensuring the safe and efficient navigation of ships.
