Zeolite A is a kind of synthetic zeolite and it can be widely used in water purification and other fields due to its unique pore structure,but its morphology is generally powder,which is not easy to recover.Basalt fiber is a new environment-friendly material,which can be woven into fiber filter cloth by textile technology for sewage filtration.At the same time,it can also be used as carrier material.The recovery problem in the application of zeolite A will be effectively solved if the zeolite A and basalt fiber are combined.The combination of them can not only provide a new solution for industrial wastewater treatment,but also expand the application field of basalt fiber and enrich the composite material types of zeolite A.The zeolite A was synthesized from kaolin and sodium silicate water glass respectively,and continuous fibers were prepared from basalt samples in Liaoning Province in this paper.Then the zeolite A-basalt fiber composites were prepared by direct hydrothermal and silane coupling agents.The morphology and particle size of the synthesized zeolite A,as well as the binding effect and loading rate of the zeolite A-basalt fiber composite were analyzed by means of X-ray diffraction,Fourier infrared spectroscopy,Raman spectroscopy,scanning electron microscopy,fiber strength tester,calcium ion adsorption test and saturated static water adsorption.The loading of zeolite A-basalt fiber composite prepared by direct hydrothermal method under the system of n(Si O2):n(Al2O3)=2,n(H2O):n(Si O2)=125,n(Na2O):n(Si O2)=2.1 can reaches 29%at 6h of crystallization.And the combination of them is a kind of structural combination,which is mainly connected by-Si-O-Si-bond,and the combination is relatively tight.However,the strength of the composites decreased slightly because of the influence of alkaline environment in the preparation process.The effects of alkali etching modification and silane coupling agent modification on basalt fiber were investigated respectively to improve the strength of basalt fiber and obtain a better composite method.It was found that the hydroxyl number and roughness of the fiber surface increased after alkali etching,but the strength decreased.Modification with silane coupling agent can increase both the surface roughness and the strength of the fiber.The combination of them can provide a new idea for the composite of zeolite A and basalt fiber.The tensile strength of zeolite A-basalt fiber composite prepared by silane coupling agent connection method is higher than fiber precursor,but the loading rate is reduced,which the maximum can reach 18%when the mass fraction is 3%.They are mainly connected by the free silicon hydroxyl after hydrolysis of silane coupling agent,which is also a structural combination.
