The Influence Of Green Finance On Our Air Quality

With the rapid development of the Chinese economy,the air quality problem gradually appeared."China Environmental Air Quality Management Assessment Report(201 7)" pointed out that "particulate matter pollution has improved overall,but the situation of exceeding the standard is still prominent,especially in the BeijingTianjin-Hebei and surrounding areas during the heating season PM2.5 pollution,PM10 pollution in some provinces(regions/cities)did not fall instead of rising".People’s life and work have been affected by the deterioration of air quality,with the continuous rise of living standards,people began to improve the requirements of the environment.The development of green finance is rapid,the construction of the green financial system is gradually improved,and green products are constantly innovating.The report of the 19th National Congress proposed:"Promote the construction and improvement of green production and consumption laws and regulations,establish a green and ecological civilization economic system,vigorously promote green financial thinking,and increase support for environmental protection and energy saving and clean industries." The development of green finance can provide strong support for the development of energy saving and environmental conservation,and provide an important basis for air quality improvement.Based on the analysis of the mechanism and the path of green finance’s influence on air quality,the article uses the entropy value method to measure the green finance development index based on relevant data from 30 provinces in China(except Hong Kong,Macao,Taiwan,and Tibet),for 11 years from 2010 to 2020 and uses a two-way fixed-effect model for empirical analysis.The results show that the development of green finance has a significant contribution to the improvement of air quality,but for the coastal areas,due to their superior geographical location,beautiful environment,and developed economy,the development of green finance fails to significantly improve air quality,and the areas with high urbanization level cause more environmental pollution because the economic development level is relatively high as well,so the improvement effect of green finance on air quality only The influence of green finance on air quality may not be obvious.In terms of influence mechanism,the development of green finance can improve air quality through technological progress and energy structure,and the mediating effect of technological progress occupies 35.96%,and the mediating effect of energy structure occupies 10.73%;in terms of regulation effect,both industrial structure upgrading and environmental regulation can play an enhanced regulation role.Finally,this thesis gives reasonable suggestions based on the above findings,aiming to improve air quality and promote the development of green finance.
