Corrugated box is an important shipping container in global logistics.The research of corrugated board is always an important topic in packaging field.However,the research objects almost all focus on the traditional corrugated medium of corrugated fibreboard.Innovative research on corrugated board structure is also rare.Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020,the international corrugated packaging industry is facing new difficulties.The development of new corrugated boxes and corrugated fibreboard is the only way to break the status quo through innovation and transformation.Therefore,this paper designs a new type of corrugated cardboard with core paper structure,that is,a new type of cardboard.Through the test method,the buffer performance of the new cardboard and the traditional cardboard is compared.Related research and main achievements are as follows:This paper is divided into two parts.The first part is to design the core paper structure of the new paperboard and prepare the new paperboard sample.The second part focuses on the mechanical properties of new paperboard.The first part is to design and describe the structure of the new type of cardboard based on the analysis of the traditional corrugated cardboard.First of all,draw the plane structure diagram and three-dimensional structure diagram of the core paper of the new type of paperboard,and then set the core paper structure parameters of the new type of paperboard,and calculate its parameters.Finally,new cardboard specimens and traditional cardboard specimens are produced,including: the core paper is made with a proofing machine;Fold the core paper;The core paper structure is fixed with acrylic board and thin wire,so that the core paper can be accurately formed;Use white latex to bond the top paper and backing paper.After a series of manual operations,new cardboard specimens and traditional cardboard specimens can be prepared,making the designed new type of paperboard can be used for experimental research.The second part is the key content of this paper,which mainly tests and studies the performance of new and traditional paperboard.Firstly,the puncture strength and bursting strength of the two kinds of paperboard were tested.From the puncture strength curves of the two kinds of paperboard,it can be seen that the puncture strength of the new type of paperboard is relatively unstable compared with the traditional paperboard,but on the whole,its puncture strength is higher than the traditional paperboard.The bursting strength curve of the two kinds of paperboard shows that the bursting strength of the traditional paperboard is slightly lower than that of the new paperboard.Because the core paper structure of the new type paperboard is relatively complex,its impact resistance is improved compared with the traditional paperboard.Secondly,the effects of static flat pressure test and static edge pressure test on the properties of the two kinds of paperboard were studied.The static flat compression test shows that the flat compression strength of the new type of paperboard is about 1.6 times that of the traditional paperboard.Using Matlab software to calculate the curve area of two kinds of paperboard before the yield point,their respective strain energy can be obtained.From the results,it can be seen that when the two kinds of paperboard are compressed to the same degree of deformation,the new type of paperboard can bear more loads and has higher cushioning efficiency.The results of static edge pressure test show that the edge pressure strength of the new paperboard is 0.853 MPa,which is better than 0.735 MPa of the traditional paperboard.It can be seen that the traditional paperboard is a typical crushing material,and the new paperboard has good resilience.Then,the effect of creep test on the properties of two kinds of paperboard was studied.Under the same load and at the same time,the deformation of traditional paperboard is greater than that of new paperboard,which shows that the creep resistance of new paperboard is better.Thirdly,drop tests were carried out on the two kinds of paperboard at three heights of 300 mm,500 mm and 700 mm respectively.From the static stress-acceleration peak curve,it can be concluded that the cushioning performance of the two kinds of paperboard decreased with the increase of drop height,but the acceleration increase of the new type of paperboard under cumulative impact was smaller,indicating that its cushioning performance under cumulative impact was better.Finally,the vibration characteristics of two kinds of paperboard are tested,including random vibration test and swept frequency vibration test.The frequency-vibration transmissibility curves of these two tests show that the damping performance of the new type paperboard is better than that of the traditional paperboard on the whole,and is more suitable for the field of transportation and packaging.The above experiments show that the new corrugated fibreboard has good recovery and structural stability due to its unique two-layer structure.Compared with traditional corrugated fibreboard,the static and dynamic cushioning performance and damping performance of the new corrugated fibreboard are greatly improved.
