Submerged arc furnace is a kind of equipment that uses electric energy to smelt calcium carbide.In the production process of submerged arc furnace,it is necessary to lift or lower the graphite electrode to control the reaction process and generate heat energy.Therefore,the measurement of electrode length is the basis and foundation of control.Based on this,our research group proposed a non-contact electrode length measurement system for submerged arc furnace.The system is based on ultrasonic technology,and the electrode length can be calculated in real time by measuring the ultrasonic transit time.In this paper,the upper computer software of the electrode length measurement system of submerged arc furnace is designed and developed.As a part of the electrode length measurement system,the upper computer software provides real-time data monitoring,data management,system parameter configuration and system alarm functions,and realizes the intelligent monitoring and control of the electrode length measurement system.Firstly,this paper analyzes the working principle,structure and workflow of the electrode length measurement system of submerged arc furnace,analyzes the demand analysis and architecture design of the upper computer software,and divides the upper computer software into seven functional modules : communication,data management,user identity management,system parameter configuration,data processing,real-time data monitoring and system alarm.Secondly,according to the demand analysis results of the upper computer software,the upper computer software development scheme based on Qt development framework and My SQL database is determined,and the functional modules of the upper computer software are designed in detail from the aspects of function,input and output parameters,software flow and so on.According to the data processing requirements of the length measurement system,the relative position of the electrode cylinder cover is calibrated and temperature compensated,and then the attitude of the electrode cylinder cover is calculated and Kalman filter is used for data fusion.Then,the working parameters of the system are calculated,and the communication protocol of the electrode length measurement system of the submerged arc furnace is designed.An optimization scheme based on FIFO queue is proposed for the problem of receiving data frames in communication.Multithreading and thread communication technology are applied.The development of each functional module is completed by programming and designing humancomputer interaction interface.Finally,the host computer software is tested.The functional and non-functional tests of each module and the whole software are carried out by unit test,integration test and system test.The test results show that the host computer software can complete the functions of data reception,data processing,data display and storage of the electrode length measurement system,and meet the functional requirements and performance requirements of the electrode length measurement system for the host computer software.
