The ceramics market is constantly pushing the development of ceramic decoration in the context of the individualized and diversified needs of today’s society. As a niche field of ceramic decoration, there are few artists engaged in this field, and there is still room for development in terms of decorative techniques and theoretical research. As an important tool in ceramic decoration, the water-distribution technique can be a good solution to the problems encountered in modern "pottery iron painting".By using iron trioxide powder in "pottery iron painting" instead of cobalt blue, the study of the decoration method of iron oxide water splitting fills the gap in the research field of water splitting technique in modern "pottery iron painting" and forms a new style of ceramic decoration. This paper firstly collects and organizes the theoretical data about modern "pottery iron painting" and the water-splitting technique, analyzes the characteristics of the water-splitting technique and its application in the decoration of blue and white flowers, and takes this as a reference to investigate the water-splitting technique in modern"pottery iron painting" from four aspects: color gradation, drawing method, comprehensive decoration and glazing method."The results of the investigation will be presented in the form of the relevant information. Finally, the results of the investigation are presented through relevant creative works. The purpose of this study is to promote the development of modern "pottery iron painting",to innovate on the basis of existing decorative techniques, and to provide new ideas for ceramic decoration.
