Abstract/Summary:
1,3-Pentadiene(PD)is an important diene in C5 fractions, but the free radical copolymerization of 1,3-pentadiene has attrated little attention. In this thesis, traditional free radical polymerization and visible light-induced reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer(RAFT)polymerization are mainly used to effectively utilize 1,3-pentadiene,a valuable resource, and the 1,3-pentadiene copolymer was modified by double bond saturation. The main research contents are as follows:(1)Using traditional free radical polymerization method, the effects of initiator type, the amount of intiator, reaction solvent and monomer molar ratio on the copolymerization of1,3-pentadiene and maleic anhydride were studied. The results of 1H NMR and 13C NMR showed that the polymerization products are mainly alternating copolymer, when the the molar ratio of monomer is 1/1,while the polymerization products are mainly ABB sequence copolymer, when the molar ratio of monomer is 1/2.Moreover,the 1,4-structure content of these two new copolymers is 84~90%,the classic thermal polymerization alternating copolymerization mode is similar to that of styrene-maleic anhydride copolymerization system. On this basis, the ternary copolymerization of styrene maleic anhydride and 1,3-pentadiene was studied. The results of NMR showed that the alternating units of[MAH|St]and[MAH|CP]could be inserted into the polymerization chain by adjusting different feed ratios, and finally polar functional polyolefins containing carbon carbon double bonds, rigid benzene ring and hydrophilic anhydride were obtained.(2)The effects of different wavelengths of light, comonomer molar ratios, and types of RAFT reagents on the polymerization of 1,3-pentadiene-maleic anhydride were studied by Using visible light-induced reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer(RAFT)polymerization. The optimum conditions for RAFT polymerization of 1,3-pentadiene and maleic anhydride are as follows:blue light at room temperature, the molar ratio of monomer is 1/1,the molar ratio of monomer and RAFT reagent is 100/1,and the RAFT reagent is O-ethyl S-benzoyl xanthate.Under the optimum conditions, the polymerization yield can reach 95%.The results of 1H NMR and 13C NMR showed that the obtained polymer was alternating copolymer. The results of GPC showed that the Mnof the polymer increased with the increase of polymerization monomer conversion, and the two showed a certain linear relationship, and the molecular weight distribution gradually tended to be narrow. The results indicating that the alternating polymerization of 1,3-pentadiene and maleic anhydride induced by visible light has certain"active/controllable"characteristics.(3)A novel sequence copolymer was prepared by double bond saturation modification of1,3-pentadiene and styrene alternating copolymer by homogeneous non-catalytic hydrogenation process or cationic cyclization process. The results of FT-IR and TGA shows that the hydrogenation modification decreases the glass transition temperature of the polymer by about10℃,but the thermal stability of the product was significantly improved. The cyclic modification basically eliminates the carbon-carbon double bond, and forms a tetrahydronaphthyl rigid double ring structure in the main chain, giving polyolefin materials good heat resistance and stability.
