China is the world’s largest producer and seller of electric bicycles.Its huge population base and social demand have laid a solid foundation for the development of electric bicycle.The green,flexible,convenient and inexpensive features of electric bicycles meet the consumer needs of Chinese consumers.However,while the number of electric bicycle ownership has increased sharply,the number of traffic accidents has increased continuously and the consequences have become more and more serious,which has severely threatened people’s lives and property.The safety of electric bicycles has become an urgent social focus in China.Therefore,it is of great practical importance to study the mechanism and countermeasures of electric bicycle traffic accidents.This paper first introduced the characteristics and basic features of traffic accidents.Based on the statistical data of electric bicycle traffic accidents,the distribution pattern of electric bicycle traffic accidents was summarized from the analysis of basic accident attributes and driver accident attributes respectively.correlations were found among the influencing factors affecting the safe operation of electric bicycles.Therefore,this paper adopted the association analysis method of electric bicycle accident influencing factors based on social network analysis and Apriori algorithm to explore the association between accident influencing factors such as accident causes,accident patterns,driving models,road alignment and lighting conditions,and realized the deep mining of influencing factors affecting electric bicycle accidents.Secondly,based on the accident causation 2-4 model,the causes of electric bicycle accidents were analyzed from three perspectives: "human unsafe behavior","physical unsafe condition",and "organizational management level".To collect behavioral analysis data,a random questionnaire survey was administered to electric bicycle drivers by designing scales for safety attitude,personal information,safety knowledge,risk perception,and risky driving behavior.Statistical analysis methods were used to perform preliminary statistical processing and reliability analysis of the data.The degree of effect of safety knowledge,safety attitude,and risk perception on risky driving behavior were modeled at three levels using the multiple regression and analysis of variance: violation behavior,aggressive behavior,and negligent behavior,respectively.Finally,based on the proposed influencing factors and causes of electric bicycle accidents,this paper proposed specific suggestions for preventing electric bicycle traffic accidents in terms of improving current administrative regulations,education and management of electric bicycle drivers,and improving the driving environment of electric bicycles.The research results of this paper have a certain guiding effect on preventing the occurrence of electric bicycle traffic accidents and improving the safe operation and management of electric bicycles.
