Development And Properties Of Antipruritic Knitted Fabric Based On Traditional Chinese Medicine Finishing

With the increasing variety of high-performance protective textiles,anti-itch textiles have been studied,but the research process is at the initial stage.Traditional Chinese medicine has high safety,abundant raw materials and low price,so it is suitable to modify and finish textiles to make them have anti-itch performance.Because knitwear is softer and more comfortable in structure,it is usually used as the fabric of close-fitting clothes,so the research on anti-itch of knitwear is of more practical significance.Therefore,in this paper,a better anti-itch Chinese medicine formula is selected,knitted fabrics with anti-itch performance are developed,and their anti-ultraviolet and antibacterial properties are tested,and the anti-itch effect is analyzed.Finally,the basic wearability is tested,and whether anti-itch finishing has an impact on the wearability of knitted fabrics is analyzed.(1)The knitted fabrics used in the experiment are pure cotton knitted fabric and polyester knitted fabric,which are made of natural fiber and synthetic fiber respectively.Three causes of skin itching are microbial infection,ultraviolet irradiation and skin dryness.According to these three reasons,the appropriate Chinese medicine was selected,and the formula of the selected Chinese medicine was continuously optimized through relevant experiments.Finally,Cortex Phellodendri,Flos Lonicerae,Aloe Vera and Kochiae Fructus were selected,because the four Chinese medicines had better safety,water solubility and attach rate of extracts on fabrics.(2)According to the specific functions of each Chinese medicine in the selected anti-itch compound Chinese medicine formula,three formulas with different proportions were prepared,and the formula of Cortex Phellodendri: Flos Lonicerae: Aloe Vera: Kochiae Fructus was 3: 3:3: 1 through hyaluronidase inhibition test and ultraviolet resistance test.Because Cortex Phellodendri,Flos Lonicerae and Aloe Vera are all resistant to pathogenic microorganisms,Cortex Phellodendri is mainly resistant to Staphylococcus aureus in bacteria,Flos Lonicerae and Aloe Vera are mainly resistant to Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli in bacteria,and they are also resistant to ultraviolet rays.Aloe Vera also has moisturizing effect,and Kochia scoparia is mainly resistant to fungi in pathogenic microorganisms,so Cortex Phellodendri,Flos Lonicerae and Aloe Vera are the main ones,and Kochia scoparia is the supplement.(3)Through the centrifugal test of solutions with different formula concentrations,it was found that when the formula concentration was 20g/L,there were more insoluble substances in the solution,so three formula concentrations of 5g/L,10g/L and 15g/L were selected for the follow-up experiments.(4)The anti-ultraviolet property and antibacterial property of pure cotton knitted fabric finished with different formula concentrations are enhanced with the increase of formula concentration,and the inhibition ability to two kinds of bacteria is above 90% when the formula concentration is 10g/L,which indicates that it has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects,among which the inhibition ability to Staphylococcus aureus is up to 99%,and the antibacterial effect is good;When the concentration of the formula is 5g/L,the transmittance of UVA and UVB are below 5%,and the protection coefficient UPF is above 50,which indicates that it has good anti-ultraviolet performance.After finishing,the air permeability,moisture permeability,drape coefficient,wrinkle recovery rate,deflection,softness and smoothness of pure cotton knitted fabric become worse,but the change degree is very small,which indicates that the anti-itch modification finishing of pure cotton knitted fabric has little influence on its basic wearability.(5)The anti-ultraviolet property and antibacterial property of pure cotton knitted fabric treated with QB-56 B adhesive after washing are less than those of knitted fabric without adhesive.The air permeability,moisture permeability and fabric style of knitted fabrics finished with adhesive have not changed much.It shows that adding adhesive QB-56 B to improve the washing resistance of anti-itch pure cotton knitted fabric is a feasible scheme.(6)The anti-ultraviolet and antibacterial properties of polyester knitted fabric finished with different formula concentrations increase with the increase of formula concentrations.When the formula concentration is 5g/L,the inhibition ability of modified polyester knitted fabric to two kinds of bacteria reaches more than 90%,which indicates that it has antibacterial effect,among which the anti-staphylococcus aureus ability reaches 99%,and the antibacterial effect is good.When the concentration of the formula is 10g/L,the transmittance of UVA and UVB are below 5%,and the protection coefficient UPF is above 50,which indicates that it has good ultraviolet resistance.After finishing,the air permeability,moisture permeability,drapability,wrinkle recovery,bending resistance,compression resistance and surface roughness of polyester knitted fabric become worse,but the degree of change is not great,which indicates that the anti-itch modification of polyester knitted fabric has little effect on its basic wearability.(7)The air permeability of pure cotton knitted fabric is 508.826mm/s less than that of polyester knitted fabric’s 581.956mm/s,which shows that the structure of pure cotton knitted fabric is more compact.After modification and finishing with traditional Chinese medicine,more traditional Chinese medicine extracts are attached to the fabric surface,so its ultraviolet protection coefficient is improved more.Polyester is a synthetic fiber with poor hygroscopicity,and the dry and breathable environment is not conducive to the growth and reproduction of microorganisms.The antibacterial rate of modified Chinese medicine is slightly stronger than that of pure cotton knitted fabric with itching resistance,but when the formula concentration is 10g/L,the pure cotton knitted fabric also reaches more than 90%,which has antibacterial effect.If the tightness of polyester knitted fabric is improved,the UV protection coefficient of the modified polyester fabric will be improved,but because of the poor hygroscopicity of polyester fabric,the wearing will feel stuffy,which is easy to breed microorganisms and the wearing comfort will plummet.Relatively speaking,the antibacterial effect of pure cotton knitted fabric after modification and finishing with traditional Chinese medicine can reach a good level,which makes up for the disadvantage that it is prone to mold.Moreover,its hygroscopicity,moisture retention and air permeability are good,and the change of fabric tightness has little effect on its performance,so it is more comfortable to wear.Therefore,antiitch pure cotton knitted fabric may be better than anti-itch polyester knitted fabric.
