Diabetes is usually divided into four types, with type 1 and 2 being the most common, with type 2 diabetes being the most common.Although the etiology of type2 diabetes is unclear,it is closely related to factors such as heredity, age, metabolism, obesity, lifestyle, immunity, and mood.Recent studies have found that chronic inflammatory response and metabolic disorders can lead to a decline in the body’s immunity, leading to type 2 diabetes and related complications, suggesting that improving inflammatory responses and regulating metabolic disorders may be an effective way to reverse type 2 diabetes.Akebia trifoliata(Thunb.)Koidz.is a medicinal and edible homologous plant, which has been found to have anti-inflammatory effects. It is widely distributed in Anhui,Fujian and other places. It is a recorded variety in the Compendium of Materia Medica and the Chinese Pharmacopoeia. In addition to its anti-inflammatory effects,it also has anti-oxidative and modulating effects on intestinal microflora. The natural products of the stems and peels of Trifolium chinensis are different, with 58 effective chemical components and 43 chemical components including higher fatty acids, phenolic acids, flavonoids, ivy saponins and other biologically active glycosides, respectively. The ivy saponins of cane have antitumor activity.Using Sanyemutong cane as raw material, the ethyl acetate extract of Sanyemutong was obtained, and the relationship between the ethyl acetate extract of Sanyemutong and model animals’ inflammatory response and diabetes was studied. To study the effects of Sanyemutong extract from the medicinal and food homologous plant on inflammatory response and related diabetes indicators in a mouse model of type 2 diabetes. The ethyl acetate extract(EAE)of Sanyemutong was obtained by extraction method, and the diabetic mouse model was established by high-fat and high-sugar diet combined with streptozotocin(STZ)injection. In the positive control group and the high, medium and low dose treatment groups, the body weight and general pharmacological conditions of the mice were recorded, and the fasting blood glucose(FBG)of the mice was measured by tail vein blood sampling.Oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT)was used to measure the postprandial blood glucose recovery ability of mice. The serum levels of tumor necrosis factor α(TNF-α),interleukin-6(IL-6)and oxidative stress indexes were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Determination of key enzymes of glucose metabolism in mice by UV spectrophotometer.Hematoxylin-eosin staining(HE)was used to analyze the histomorphology of mouse liver. An automatic biochemical analyzer was used to determine triglyceride(TG),total cholesterol(TC),high-density lipoprotein(HDL-C),and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(low-density lipoprotein,LDL-C)content.Compared with the blank group, the levels of TNF-α,IL-6,TG,TC,and LDL-C in mice treated with Sanyemutong extract were significantly decreased(P<0.01),and the level of HDL-C was significantly increased(P<0.01),decreased liver inflammation, decreased blood glucose levels, and increased body weight in mice.Sanyemutong extract can modulate the metabolic disorder in a mouse model of type II diabetes, reduce the inflammatory response, and improve the symptoms of diabetes.
