The external spline parts processed by traditional machining methods such as rolling,milling and grinding can fully meet the requirements for size,shape and centering accuracy in their daily working environment,as well as the loads they need to bear in the working environment that can reach the limit.The machining of internal splines,especially for materials with high hardness,requires a new way to process them to ensure their performance.This paper first analyzes the basic working principle of EDM,and then understands the common phenomena in the machining process and conducts analysis and research through the study of literature.Taking DK7140 as the test platform,45 steel as the workpiece to be processed,and red copper as the tool electrode,the influence of the three process parameters of low-voltage current,discharge time and discharge rest time on the process index was studied.By selecting different electrical parameter values and the limit conditions that occurred during the test,the appropriate electrical parameter selection range was selected: low voltage current 9A≤Ap≤15A,discharge time 200μs≤TA≤500μs,discharge rest time 8μs≤TB≤45μs.Through the establishment of a reasonable orthogonal test,it can be concluded that for the process index of processing speed,the primary and secondary order of the influence of each factor is: low-voltage current,discharge rest time,discharge time;when the research object of the process index is tool electrode wear and tear,the influence degrees of the three main process index factors studied in this paper are arranged in descending order: discharge rest time,low-voltage current,discharge time;for the process index of surface roughness,the primary and secondary order of the influence degree of each factor is: : Low voltage current,discharge time,discharge rest time.At the same time,it is deduced that under the current test platform and process conditions,the comprehensive optimal electrical parameters relative to processing time,electrode loss and surface roughness are low-voltage current 12 A,discharge time 200μs,and discharge rest time 8μs.
