| EPDM is widely used in the automotive,electric power and construction industries for its excellent ageing resistance,but the domestic EPDM market is highly dependent on imported products and the self-sufficiency rate is low,so it is of great practical significance to study the structural analysis and performance optimization of domestic EPDM.In this paper,the structural analysis and performance study of J-4090(produced by Jilin Petrochemical)and 6950C(produced by LANXESS Chemical)were carried out;the reasons for the oil seepage of EPDM J-3080P(produced by Jilin Petrochemical)and polypropylene(PP)after being made into TPV were analysed and experimentally verified;J-2034P(produced by Jilin Petrochemical)and 3722 P and 4725P(produced by Dow Chemical)were compared and studied in order to improve the market competitiveness and application value of domestic EPDM.J-4090 and 6950 C are both medium ethylene content,high third monomer content EPDM,mainly used in the production of sponge rubber products.This paper shows that as the third monomer content of J-4090 and 6950 C is 7.8wt%and 9.2wt% respectively,the ethylene phase content is 53.3wt% and 47.0wt%respectively,and the molecular weight distribution index is 4.2 and 2.7respectively,so the filler dispersion of J-4090 compound is better but the vulcanization rate is lower;J-4090 vulcanized rubber has better heat resistance but poorer mechanical properties;the pore size and foam multiplicity of the two EPDM foams are close to each other.Based on the above analysis,the mechanical properties of the two EPDMs can be brought to the same level by increasing the amount of the vulcanisation system by 20% in the J-4090 formulation.J-3080P is a high ethylene content(about 70%)EPDM,from the microscopic analysis,the higher ethylene content will lead to the existence of polyethylene crystal zone in TPV,when the external temperature fluctuation is drastic,along with the breakage and reconstruction of the crystal zone,the ethylene phase will easily drain the oil to the surface of the product.From a macroscopic point of view,the viscosity and amount of filling oil in the TPV formulation can also have an impact on this.This paper shows that: the tendency of TPV to seep oil decreases with increasing filler oil viscosity;the melt index,compression permanent deformation and tendency of TPV to seep oil increase with increasing filler oil dosage;TPV made from copolymer PP has a higher tendency to seep oil than homopolymer PP due to its higher ethylene content.J-2034P and 3722P and 4725P are all EPDM with high ethylene content(above 70%)and are mainly used in the production of medium and high voltage wire and cable insulation compounds.This paper shows that J-2034 P has a narrow molecular weight distribution,with ethylene content and ENB content between 3722 P and 4725 P.Therefore,the shear viscosity of the J-2034 P compound is high during extrusion and the mechanical and electrical insulation properties of the J-2034 P vulcanised rubber are in the middle.In comparison,J-2034 P has a better overall application in medium and high voltage wire and cable insulation compounds. |
