Low carbon alcohol has been attracted widespread attention because of its wide application,Due to the existence of oxygen atoms,it can be fully burned and it has the potential to become a gasoline substitute,or as a good gasoline additives;It can also be used as lubricants and pharmaceutical intermediates with high added value.Ethanol as the main composition in the low carbon alcohol,not only can make articles for daily use,but also can replace a greater toxicity of fuel cell technology,lower energy density of methanol as a hydrogen carrier,especially since the outbreak of Corona Virus Disease in 2020,requires a lot of rubbing alcohol,coupled with the ethanol gasoline,the domestic increasing demand for ethanol.Syngas is one of the main products of coal chemical industry,and its transformation technology is the key to the effective utilization of coal resources.The research on synthesis of low carbon alcohol from syngas has a long history and has been developed up to now.The main reasons that limit its large-scale industrialization are low activity,poor stability,short life and low selectivity of target products.In order to improve the activity of CuCo-based catalysts and the selectivity of target products,by adding various additives in this paper,the method of optimizing the proportion of active metal CuCo base catalyst to improve the optimization,and through the fixed bed catalytic performance evaluation of the series,the XRD,H2-TPR,in situ diffuse reflectance infrared spectroscopy characterization,analyze the reason of its performance change from all aspects.And it turns out,The addition of La and Ru to the catalyst Co0.5Cu/γ-Al2O3as additives can reduce the grain size of the active component in the catalyst and improve the dispersity of the active component,Moreover,the active site and chain growth capacity of CO insertion were increased.thus improving the catalyst’s activity and the selectivity of the target product of low carbon alcohols.Co0.5Cu/γ-Al2O3catalyst with a mass ratio of Co/Cu of 2:1has the highest total alcohol and low carbon alcohol ratio of 15.15%and11.32%,respectively.The study on Co0.5Cu/γ-Al2O3catalyst with La,Ru and various alkali metal additives shows that,Except Cs,all the metal additives could increase the proportion of low carbon alcohols in total alcohol,but only K promoted the activity of catalyst and selectivity of low carbon alcohols in the products,and the proportion of total alcohol selectivity,low carbon alcohol selectivity and low carbon alcohol in total alcohol were 15.34%,11.9%and 68.69%,respectively.It was found that the higher the degree,the lower the pressure,the lower the space velocity and the higher the hydrogen ratio of the catalyst,the higher the activity of the catalyst.Decreasing temperature,increasing pressure,decreasing space velocity and hydrogen ratio can help to increase the proportion of low carbon alcohols in total alcohols.
