As the chemical industry continues to mature,people put forward more and more requirements for product purity and process energy consumption in chemical separation.The development of new and efficient packing is imminent.To meet this need,this study takes the mechanism of packing pressure drop as the breakthrough point and combines with the design experience of the predecessors,a new type of wire gauze corrugated packing,PFP packing,with different configurations A and B is developed.The main part of the packing is three oblique segments with a certain angle with the vertical direction,and four vertical segments are added in its adjacent position and the upper and lower ends of the packing.The unique geometric structure of the packing not only improves its hydrodynamic performance,but also gives consideration to the mass transfer performance.The hydrodynamic and mass transfer performance of four kinds of PFP type packings(PFP700-A,PFP700-B,PFP1000-A,PFP1200-A)were measured by cold mold experimental device,and their performance change law was analyzed and summarized,and compared with CY700 type packing.The results showed that the dry pressure drops of PFP700-A and PFP700-B packings decreased by 20.23% and 24.54%,respectively,compared with CY700 type packings;The wet pressure drop decreased by 54.96% and57.39%,respectively;Flooding gas velocity improved by 21.37% and 24.68%,respectively;The HETP was reduced by an average of 8.58% and 4.35%,respectively.The classic hydrodynamic model with high applicability was selected to fit and correlate the dry pressure drop,wet pressure drop and flooding gas velocity of PFP type packing,to obtain the model correlation formula and calculate its relative deviation to verify the accuracy and reliability of the model.From the point of view of the packing pressure drop generation,combined with the unique geometry of PFP type packing,and made reasonable assumptions and simplifications about its flow process,we establish a suitable model of dry pressure drop and wet pressure drop for PFP type packing.It can be found by calculation: the accuracy of the model is greatly improved compared with the traditional hydrodynamic model,and this model can accurately predict the dry pressure drop and wet pressure drop of PFP type packings.
